The paper reports the results of BCI-controlled exoskeleton trials for 88 children and adolescents diagnosed with cerebral palsy having unilateral paresis or hemiplegia. Significant improvement motor function according to ARAT Fugl-Meyer, Jebsen-Taylor, Box Blocks test were observed, as well increase in muscle force MRCSS. BCI performance indices show that patients capable controlling accuracy comparable post-stroke patients. Further analysis indicates higher gain clinical scales is associated F-scores paretic hand lower intact movement imagery classification.

Abstract This paper presents an open dataset of over 50 hours near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) recordings. Fifteen stroke patients completed a total 237 motor imagery brain–computer interface (BCI) sessions. The BCI was controlled by imagined hand movements; visual feedback presented based on the real– time data classification results. We provide experimental records, patient demographic profiles, clinical scores (including ARAT and Fugl–Meyer), online performance, simple analysis hemodynamic response. assume that this can be useful for evaluating effectiveness various near– signal processing techniques in with cerebrovascular accidents.

Published: July 6, 2023

Introduction Various neurological conditions can impair hand function. Affected individuals cannot fully participate in activities of daily living due to the lack fine motor control. Neurorehabilitation emphasizes repetitive movement and subjective clinical assessments that require experience administer. Methods Here, we perform a review literature focused on use hand-worn devices for rehabilitation assessment We paid particular attention protocols involve brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) since BCIs are gaining ground as means detecting volitional signals basis interactive training augment recovery. All reviewed either monitor, assist, stimulate, or support finger movement. Results A majority studies here test validate through trials, especially stroke. Even though sensor gloves most commonly employed type device this domain, they have certain limitations. Many such bend inertial sensors monitor individual digits, but few both applied pressure. The BCI is also uncommon. Discussion conclude flexion grip will benefit diagnostic function during treatment closed-loop aimed at rehabilitation.

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) are a group of technologies that allow mental training with feedback for post-stroke motor recovery. Varieties these have been studied in numerous clinical trials more than 10 years, and their construct software constantly being improved. Despite the positive treatment results availability registered medical devices, there currently number problems wide application BCI technologies. This review provides information on most types BCIs its protocols describes evidence base effectiveness upper limb recovery after stroke.
