Abstract Ataxia-ocular apraxia 2 (AOA2) is a rare neurodegenerative autosomal recessive disorder with no effective treatment. In this study, we present the case of patient diagnosed AOA2, who experienced walking instability and uncoordinated movement. The underwent Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) treatment for four weeks was followed up after one month. effectiveness evaluated using International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale ༈ICARS༉, Assessment ༈SARA༉, 9-Hole Peg Test ༈9HPT༉, Functional near-infrared spectroscopy ༈fNIRS༉. Following treatment, patient's ataxia symptoms showed significant improvement continued to be alleviated during follow-up period, suggesting lasting effect tACS These findings from our study provide compelling evidence potential as option AOA2.
