Scope Metabolic syndrome (MetS) significantly contributes to premature mortality, with obesity being a major risk factor. Dragon fruit, cultivated globally, exhibits bioactivity in preventing obesity‐related diseases. Traditional studies using organic solvents for extraction do not align actual consumption patterns. Method and results This study evaluates whole red dragon fruit's effectiveness ameliorating metabolic disorders high‐fat diet‐induced model mice 20 weeks. The experimental groups include the supernatant (RS), precipitate (RP), pomace (PO) of fruit juice, compared white juice (WS). finds that extracts reduced adipose tissue weight, body fat percentage, pro‐inflammatory cytokines, improved blood lipid profiles. RP is most effective, reducing weight by 4.33 g, improving metabolism glucose homeostasis, altering gut microbiota enhance beneficial bacteria short‐chain fatty acids. RP's efficacy MetS attributed its bioactive components. Conclusion These findings advocate fruits developing functional products, amplifying agricultural economic value fruit.

Pectin is widely used as the main polymer in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical applications. The pectin utilization diverse fields can contribute to fruit waste processing since such peel serves a source. This study aimed analyze extraction temperature effect on physicochemical properties of extracted from various tropical waste. In this study, we determined pectin’s wastes fruits like papaya, lime, lemon, dragon using 3% citric acid at 65 90°C. A higher yield resulted 90oC (8.78 27.03 %) than that obtained 65oC (5.78 17.71 %). spectra Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) mainly showed degradation pectin, specifically cases indicated by OH peak intensity. All samples were high methoxyl (HM), with degrees esterification (DE) ranging 56.98 89.63%. Among peels studied, only lemon 90°C, anhydrouronic (AUA) content 77.35%, meets criteria for food additives pharmaceutical purposes.
