Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry has long been a prevalent method in the analysis of low volatility molecules with biological, environmental, and industrial relevance. To address analytical challenges associated suffering from efficiencies (IEs), chemical derivatization (CD) strategies have developed are frequently adopted into workflows. However, only minute number CD techniques for negative polarity. this disparity, we evaluated 27 anions based on three criteria: (1) IE relative to sodium dodecyl sulfate (11 + Na+) internal standard; (2) stability collision induced dissociation; (3) diagnostic tandem behavior. Highly fluorous ions exhibiting weakly coordinating hydrophobic properties displayed enhanced IE. Trifluoromethanesulfonyl-containing proved be unexpectedly labile, while tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (23) bis(nonafluoro-1-butane)sulfonimidate (25) were determined optimal 332% ± 25% 939% 92%, respectively, MS exhibited survival yields 100% 0% 72.6% 0.8% at -50 eV. 23 25 also comparable across several solvents, combinations thereof, that ubiquitous liquid chromatography. Boron-doped diamond electrodes have found applications in the detection, monitoring, and mitigation of toxic chemicals resulting from various industries human activities. The boron-doped electrode is a widely applicable technology this field, primarily due to its excellent surface characteristics: minimal no adsorption, wide operating potential range, robustness, high selectivity. These extraordinary properties can be further enhanced through termination, which additionally improve analytical performance (BDD) electrodes. accuracy precision developed methods indicate broad practical applicability these across sample matrices. Some studies shown that different strategies lead sensitivity selectivity, such as modifying (nanostructuring), forming composite materials based on BDD, or implementing miniaturization techniques. Thus, review summarizes recent literature electroanalytical BDDE surfaces, with particular focus environmental applications.

Abstract This study addresses the growing need to accurately identify trace elements in environment, an important factor effective pollution control and protection of public health. The goal was evaluate compare sensitivity, selectivity, specificity Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) Liquid (LC-MS) different environmental matrices such as air, water, soil, wastewater. Controlled laboratory experiments were carried out assess effectiveness both techniques for detection polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chemicals, pesticides. Results revealed that GC-MS achieved high sensitivity VOCs with limits reaching 0.1 pg/mL, PAHs water down 2 pg/g. However, performance reduced complex like soil due matrix effects. Conversely, LC-MS excelled detecting polar non-volatile compounds, pharmaceuticals wastewater, 0.5 pesticides pg/g, even while contending challenges ion suppression. findings emphasise select analytical method based on analyte type complexity ensure precise reliable results samples.
