Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) significantly impacts millions worldwide, with limited success in achieving remission for many patients, leading to high disease burden and increased suicide risk. Psychotherapy antidepressants, although effective, do not provide relief all, prompting the search alternative treatments. Ketogenic diets have demonstrated positive effects on brain health. Our study aims investigate efficacy of ketogenic diet alleviating MDD symptoms, filling a critical gap psychiatric treatment options offering novel dietary approach potential mitigate enhance mental well-being. This phase randomized controlled trial will evaluate ten-week program dietitian counseling meal provision versus an intervention similar dietetic contact promoting healthy, insulin-lowering, non-ketogenic diet. The primary outcome is change Patient Health Questionnaire nine-item depression score. Secondary outcomes include cognitive affective mindfulness, self-efficacy, sleep, function, work social adjustment, various immunological, metabolic, microbiome markers at weeks 6 10. addresses by exploring diet's as intervention.
