Abstract Objective Chronic constipation and diarrhea are prevalent functional gastrointestinal disorders. Various factors related to diet lifestyle contribute bowel We aimed examine the association between Oxidative Balance Score(OBS) chronic among US adult men women. Methods A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey covering years 2007 2010. Altogether, 4,462 subjects were enrolled in our study. The independent variable is OBS scoring based on 20 types of dietary components. binary logistic regression, subgroup by sex, used restricted cubic spline (RCS) illustrate relationship abnormal health. Results In fully-adjusted Model 3, odds ratio (OR) with a 95% confidence interval for fourth quartile 0.302 (0.113, 0.808) (p trend < 0.001) constipation, compared third quartile. Similarly, incidence women varied significantly across [OR: 0.422 (0.218, 0.816), P = 0.010] 0.387 (0.178, 0.839), 0.016] (P 0.001). negative linear identified RCS, p-value non-linear relations greater than 0.05. Conclusion conclusion, low negatively risk males females.

Oxidative stress is associated with functional bowel disorders. The Balance Score (OBS) used to represent the overall level of oxidative experienced by an individual. Sex differences are exhibited in occurrence constipation and diarrhea. This population-based study aimed examine association between OBS, constipation, diarrhea, among adults United States (US), stratified sex. Using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database spanning 2007 2010, a cross-sectional including 4,462 participants (2,386 males 2,076 females) was performed assess relationship adult men women US. Constipation diarrhea were identified according frequency stool type, as outlined Bowel Questionnaire. independent variable OBS based on 20 types dietary lifestyle components. We conducted binary logistic regression subgroup analysis sex, univariate analysis; restricted cubic spline (RCS) illustrate abnormal health. After adjusting for all covariates, multivariate revealed that negatively correlated [odds ratios (OR) (95% confidence intervals (CI)): 0.937 (0.888, 0.988), P = 0.017], females [OR (95%CI): 0.951 (0.916, 0.987), 0.009]. RCS negative linear trend (P non-linearity 0.63), well > 0.05). current found correlation risk males, along females. stress, gut microbiota, sex may be intestinal dysfunction. These findings suggest antioxidant-rich modifications effective strategy preventing

Numerous researches have revealed a correlation between dietary factors and the development of constipation. This study aimed to investigate association oxidative balance score (DOBS) A cross-sectional was conducted by us based on National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2005 2010 including 31,034 individuals who completed constipation questionnaire. The DOBS calculated 16 factors, containing 14 antioxidants two prooxidants. Multiple logistic regression restricted cubic spline (RCS) analyses were employed examine Meanwhile, propensity matching (PSM) chosen eliminate effect confounding variables. total 11,019 participants identified as After adjusting for potential variables, multiple analysis indicated that decreasing (OR = 0.977, 95% CI: 0.966-0.987, p < 0.001) apparently associated with increased risk incidence. Notably, occurrence reduced level DOBS, compared Q1 (Q2, OR 0.820, CI, 0.682-0.988, 0.037; Q3, 0.797, 0.653-0.973, 0.026; Q4, 0.648, 0.528-0.797, 0.001). Low levels positively development, demonstrating could be indicator prevention.

Background This study aimed to investigate the independent and combined effects of prolonged daily sitting time sleep duration on risk constipation, using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005–2010. Methods A total 6,894 participants were included in analysis. Daily self-reported categorized as short (<7 h/day) or long (≥7 h/day). Constipation was defined based stool consistency frequency Bristol Stool Form Scale. Multivariable logistic regression models used estimate odds ratios (ORs) for constipation. restricted cubic spline analysis applied assess dose–response relationships. Results Participants with showed a higher constipation compared those time. In multivariable-adjusted models, positively associated an increased (OR = 1.424; 95% CI, 1.114–1.821), while lower 0.725; 0.553–0.952). The joint revealed that combination highest prevalence 1.975; 1.378–2.833). Conclusion Both insufficient especially when combined. These findings underscore importance adopting healthier habits reducing sedentary behavior risk.

Sleep disorders significantly impact the quality of life for many individuals, which remain largely unrecognized. It is widely believed that dietary nutrient intake plays a crucial role in promoting healthy sleep patterns. However, there lack research focusing on cancer survivors. This study utilized National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database to investigate correlation between Analyzing data from 2882 survivors NHANES spanning 2005 2018. Dietary was evaluated through two 24-h recalls. Weighted multivariable logistic regression model employed further applied explore association fiber while controlling relevant confounding factors. Additionally, nonlinear dose-response relationships were explored using restricted cubic spline (RCS) along with smooth curve fitting threshold effect analysis. Stratified analysis interaction conducted assess consistency results. Univariable demonstrated showed negative (P < 0.05). Treating as continuous variable. After accounting all covariates, reaffirmed protective (odds ratio [OR]: 0.99, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.98-0.99, P = 0.044). Analysis quartiles supported this trend 0.001). Interestingly, investigations indicated not associated apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, or other types > Notably, no statistically significant interactions observed subgroup analyses except poverty income (PIR) 0.05), indicating more pronounced individuals PIR ≥ 2.5. Our results suggest adequate may be beneficial strategy reduce
