Although international mobility of medical personnel has gained scholarly attention, there been limited empirical research on overseas-educated dietetic professionals. China experienced a notable return highly skilled This study aims to explore the experiences Chinese returnees, focusing their practice areas, job satisfaction, motivations for returning, post-return challenges, and career development strategies. A web-based survey, conducted from July December 2022, targeted returnees with degree(s) institutions outside mainland China. Participants were recruited professional group chats social media platform. Job satisfaction was assessed using 7-item scale, responses ranging 0 5 each item. Its internal consistency evaluated via Cronbach's alpha. Responses analyzed descriptive statistics, t tests, ANOVA. multivariate regression helps further predict satisfaction. Thematic analysis guides an open-ended question. (N = 138) mainly female (86.2%), had master's degree (79.0%), studied in United States (37.7%). Clinical roles dominated employment, but also pursued biomedicine, biotechnology, media. The mean score 3.39 indicated moderate varied across subgroups (e.g., older participants); however, multivariable model, only salary level remained significant predictor. Key returning included familial ties, societal connections, desire contribute home country development. Returnees identified domestic networking connections as top challenge. Meanwhile, they demonstrated agency navigating development, such by leveraging transnational networks. envisioned systematic workforce changes, improving licensure regulation foreign-trained have diverse pathways. Post-return significantly predicted level, emphasizing critical role compensation economic viability sustaining careers field. Our findings suggest that while primarily motivated personal cultural factors, faced re-entry challenges warrant attention educators policymakers.
