With increasing recognition of the interdependencies human and planetary health, calls for a socially environmentally just framework health have centered on whole person healthcare (WPHC) approaches. This perspective piece proposes an argument broadening definition from WPHC to one that is guided by philosophical orientation traditional system medicine (WSM) approaches, undergirded values social environmental justice, supported practices allopathic-integrative medicine-based framework. presents opportunities praxis offered WSM–WPHC address global inequity, disparities, sustainability challenges. An ecological envisages justice in material discursive ways foregrounding consciousness as constitutive biopsychosocial composition. It argues structural support through formalized programmatic pathways targeting funding mechanisms invite investigations addressing epistemic challenges expanding definitions evidence constituting basic science knowledge domains beyond mechanistic, causal, formative paradigms.
