The global aging population faces a growing prevalence of sarcopenia and musculoskeletal (MSK) pain, two interrelated conditions that diminish physical function, quality life, independence in older adults. Sarcopenia, characterized by the loss muscle strength, mass, often coexists with MSK emerging evidence suggesting each condition may contribute to progression other. This perspective explores bidirectional relationship between highlighting shared mechanisms, including inactivity, cellular aging, chronic inflammation, gender-related hormonal changes, psychosocial factors such as depression social isolation, which underlie mutual exacerbation conditions.
