Biofilm-associated amyloid proteins have emerged as significant contributors to the progression of neurodegenerative diseases, representing a complex intersection microorganisms and human health. The cross-beta sheet structure characteristic amyloids produced by gut-colonizing bacteria remains intact, crucial for resilience biofilms. These exacerbate disorders such Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s cross-seeding amyloidogenic like amyloid-beta α-synuclein, accelerating their misfolding aggregation. Despite molecular chaperones heat shock maintaining protein homeostasis, bacterial can overwhelm them, worsening neuronal damage. Abstract With the exacerbation of global population aging, age‐related neurodegenerative disorders have been posing an increasing public health concern. l ‐α‐Glycerylphosphorylcholine ( ‐α‐GPC) has demonstrated significant therapeutic potential for mental health‐related and possesses promising market prospects. Recently, ‐α‐GPC successively approved as a new food resource in Canada (2023) China (2024). These policies pointed out recognized safety utility ‐α‐GPC. The utilization dietary supplements foods could be convenient option early intervention strategies to potentially delay or mitigate progression disorders. Additionally, other unique nutritional benefits highlighted, further expanding its application industry. Encouraged by policy incentives, there is likely upsurge research interest surrounding To fully capitalize on these emerging opportunities, we present comprehensive review chemical properties, pharmacological characteristics, assessments, preparation methods were summarized. A brief outlook future perspectives unsolved challenges was also proposed.

Abstract Expression of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor, particularly when containing GluN2B subunit (NMDAR-GluN2B) varies across prefrontal cortex (PFC). In humans, subgenual cingulate (SGC) contains among highest levels NMDAR-GluN2B expression, while dorsolateral (dlPFC) exhibits a more moderate level expression. are commonly associated with ionotropic synaptic function and plasticity, essential to neurotransmission underlying working memory in macaque dlPFC layer III circuits afflicted schizophrenia. Background Holistic medical practices, including meditation and mindfulness, are increasingly recognized for their benefits in mental health stress reduction, with applications clinical settings. However, effects on older adults mild cognitive impairment (MCI) remain underexplored. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of loosening meditation, a brief accessible practice we developed, this population. Methods Nine MCI, defined by Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scores 21-28 during screening period, participated pilot study. The sessions our were conducted weekly over four weeks. Cognitive function was assessed using MMSE Revised Hasegawa's Dementia Scale (HDS-R), while psychological well-being evaluated 30-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-30) Japanese version University Wales Institute Science Technology Mood Adjective Checklist (JUMACL). Serum levels representative biomarkers measured before after first session. Results Participants had mean age 78.1 years (± 4.8 years) score 25.1 points 2.5). These participants could complete all safely. No significant differences observed MMSE, HDS-R, GHQ-30, or JUMACL (tension arousal) intervention. (emotion significantly improved fourth session (pre-first, 25.3 ± 6.2; post-fourth, 28.7 7.3; p = 0.004). Among these biomarkers, serum cortisol decreased following (before versus after, 10.8 5.8 7.4 2.3 μg/dl; 0.04). Additionally, although not statistically significant, there trend towards lower level adrenaline 0.057 0.026 0.050 0.027 ng/ml; 0.06). Conclusions Our feasible, acceptable, safe, might enhance mood reduce even MCI. preliminary findings suggest its potential as supportive intervention
