Abstract Grapholita molesta (Busck) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) is a globally significant fruit pest traditionally managed using chemical insecticides such as lambda-cyhalothrin. However, repeated applications have led to the development of resistance in field populations. The mechanisms and fitness costs associated with lambda-cyhalothrin G. remain poorly understood. In this study, we established lambda-cyhalothrin-resistant strain (RS) through continuous selection laboratory for 21 generations, resulting 249.6-fold increase resistance. Bioassay data from F1 progeny (F1RS F1SR) reciprocal crosses between RS susceptible (SS) showed similar degrees dominance (0.40 F1RS 0.32 F1SR). Significant differences observed expected mortalities backcross individuals suggested that polygenic. Compared SS strain, exhibited significantly prolonged periods larval, prepupal, pupal stages, well decrease larval weight. addition, reductions fecundity, cumulative flight distance, maximum time, average speed. These results suggest autosomal, incompletely dominant, Life-history traits fecundity capacity were reduced strains compared strain. findings provide valuable insights mitigating promoting sustainable control field.

Lepidopteran insects are a major threat to global agriculture, causing significant crop losses and economic damage. Traditional pest control methods becoming less effective due the rapid evolution of insecticide resistance. This study explores current status genomic characteristics 1315 records, alongside an overview relevant research, utilizing advanced functional genomics techniques, including RNA-seq CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technologies uncover molecular mechanisms underlying Our analysis revealed variability in genome size, assembly quality, chromosome number, which may influence species' biology resistance mechanisms. We identified key resistance-associated genes pathways, detoxification metabolic help these evade chemical control. By employing we directly manipulated confirm their roles resistance, demonstrating potential for targeted interventions management. These findings emphasize value integrating data into development sustainable strategies, reducing reliance on insecticides promoting environmentally friendly integrated management (IPM) approaches. highlights critical role IPM its provide long-term solutions growing challenge
