Paeonia suffruticosa Andr. is an endemic shrub flower in China with 2n = 10. This study used 228 cultivars from four populations, i.e., Jiangnan, Japan, Northwest, and Zhongyuan, as materials to explore the genetic diversity levels among different populations of tree peony varieties. The results showed that 34 bands were amplified using five pairs cpSSR primers, average 6.8 per primer pair. number alleles (Na), effective (Ne), Shannon's information index (I), (H), polymorphic content (PIC) 3.600, 2.053, 0.708, 0.433, 0.388, respectively. PIC value was between 0.250 0.500, indicating a moderate level polymorphism for pairs. varied Northwest population showing relatively lower (I 0.590, H 0.289, 0.263). A total 52 haplotypes identified examined ranged 11 22. Forty-four private detected across exhibiting highest count 17. mean (Neh), haplotypic richness (Rh), (H) 8.351, 6.824, 0.893, Analysis molecular variance indicated variation within germplasm greater than resources, main found individuals germplasm. Rose rosette disease (RRD), caused by the emaravirus (RRV), is a major threat to garden rose industry in United States. There has been limited work on genetics of host plant resistance RRV. Two interconnected tetraploid F1 biparental mapping populations were created develop high-quality linkage maps that allowed discovery RRD quantitative trait loci (QTLs) groups (LGs) 5, 6, and 7. These QTLs individually accounted for around 18-40% phenotypic variance. The locus with greatest effect partial was found LG 5. Most individuals 5 QTL simplex configuration; however, two duplex (likely due double reduction). Identification resistant regions interest can help development diagnostic markers marker-assisted selection breeding program.

Chinese narcissus (Narcissus tazetta var. chinensis) was introduced to China 1300–1400 years ago, and has grown naturally in southeastern China. It is a popular traditional potted flower well-known flowering bulb cultivated worldwide with only two white-tepal triploid cultivars, ‘Jinzhan Yintai’ ‘Yulinglong’. Recently, mutant yellow tepals observed promptly became popular. To clarify the key pigment for color difference its molecular mechanism of accumulation, we conducted metabolite analysis comparative transcriptome on yellow-flowered mutant. The results showed that there no significant total flavonoid content between Yintai’, whereas carotenoid more than 10-fold higher Yintai’. Based RNA-sequencing results, sixty-four unigenes, corresponding 29 enzymes associated biosynthesis pathway, were analyzed detail. A KEGG pathway enrichment analysis, conjunction quantitative real-time PCR data, revealed opposite gene expression mode pathway. Compared Yintai ’, PSY PDS up-regulated three mid-flowering stages mutant, NCED genes strongly down-regulated, which likely contributed accumulation chromoplasts

Highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum, 2n = 4x 48) is the most cultivated type of blueberry, both in New Zealand and overseas. Its perceived nutritional value conferred by phytonutrients, particularly anthocyanins. Identifying genetic mechanisms that control biosynthesis these metabolites would enable faster development cultivars with improved fruit qualities. Here, we used recently released tools for mapping autotetraploids to build a high-density linkage map highbush detect quantitative trait loci (QTLs) anthocyanin content. Genotyping was performed target sequencing, ∼18,000 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers being mapped into 12 phased groups (LGs). Fruits were harvested when ripe two seasons analyzed high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS): 25 different compounds identified quantified. Two major QTLs stable across years discovered, one on LG2 LG4, underlying candidate genes identified. Interestingly, presence anthocyanins containing acylated sugars appeared be under strong control. Information gained this study will design molecular marker-assisted selection help better understanding crop.
