The octadecanoids are a broad class of lipids consisting the oxygenated products 18-carbon fatty acids. Originally referring to production phytohormone jasmonic acid, octadecanoid pathway has been expanded include all Octadecanoids formed biosynthetically in mammals via cyclooxygenase (COX), lipoxygenase (LOX), and cytochrome P450 (CYP) activity, as well nonenzymatically by photo- autoxidation mechanisms. While well-known mediators plants, their role regulation mammalian biological processes generally neglected. However, there have significant advancements recognizing importance these compounds involvement mediation inflammation, nociception, cell proliferation, immuno- tissue modulation, coagulation processes, hormone regulation, skin barrier formation. More recently, gut microbiome shown be source biosynthesis, providing additional biosynthetic routes including hydratase activity (e.g., CLA-HY, FA-HY1, FA-HY2). In this review, we summarize current field octadecanoids, propose standardized nomenclature, provide details preparation measurement, phase-I metabolic formation mammals, bacteria, fungi, describe relation pathophysiology potential use biomarkers health disease.

Juglans regia L. is an edible fruit tree cultivated worldwide for its fruits and wood as urban tree. Globally, there growing concern preserving the genetic diversity of trees with high economic ecological value. This study investigates J. in landscapes assesses quality walnut kernels a local food product. An inventory 150 from five populations public green spaces Lugoj, Caransebeș Jupa, well two semi-natural hilly ecosystems Banat Region, was conducted. Molecular analyses showed that Directed Amplification Minisatellite-region DNA (DAMD) markers were more effective than Start Codon Targeted (SCoT) markers, higher average polymorphism 56.26%, compared to 49.44%. DAMD07 achieved 100% DAMD05 strong balance between P.I.C. (0.35) (54.54%). Chemical analysis revealed following contents kernels: protein (12.81% 16.80%), lipids (60.39% 69.08%), total polyphenols (5484.66 10,788.4 mg GAE/kg), copper (3.655 8.532 mg/kg), manganese (14.408 28.618 zinc (19.813 46.583 lead (1.204 2.27 mg/kg) cadmium (0.03451 0.08065 mg/kg). These findings are critical conservation efforts, forestry management ensuring safety products derived regia.

Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is a brown obtained from cashew waste, with several applications as renewable feedstock for polymeric industries. To obtain it, nuts must undergo thermal pre-treatment processes to soften (CNS) and extraction operations separate CNSL CNS. Although it well known that mainly composed of phenolic lipids, the chemical identity minor components has not been widely explored. Thus, this study analyzed lipid profile using untargeted lipidomics aimed understand effects methods. Here, based on multivariate analysis we elucidated differences between extracted by Soxhlet or mechanical pressing CNS pre-treated roasting steaming. It was found displays significant effect regardless method used most likely related degradation in raw samples. Similarly, methods cause variances due solvent selectivity soxhlet method. expands knowledge terms associated processing, demonstrating performing affects indistinctively implemented.
