Abstract The aphid-transmitted polerovirus, sugarcane yellow leaf virus (SCYLV), is one of the most widespread viruses and causes huge economic losses to global production. Molecular studies disease resistance breeding against SCYLV are impeded both by lack infectious clones comprehensive knowledge this virus. In study, we present development first cDNA clone SCYLV, which could efficiently infect Nicotiana benthamiana, Arabidopsis thaliana plants. SCYLV-based recombinant heterologous EGFP protein vector was also developed. Using system, identified green peach aphid, Myzus persicae , as a new compatible transmission recognized LC05-136 GT10-2118 more resistant cultivars than Badila. This system provides an indispensable resource for biological research efforts.

Interspecific hybridization serves as a crucial strategy for innovating sugarcane germplasms. Currently, nearly all modern varieties that incorporate genetic material are derived from Saccharum spontaneum. The number of chromosomes in S. spontaneum ranges 40 to 128, contributing significantly the diversity its resources. However, mechanisms driving chromosome variation remain be fully elucidated. Here, oligonucleotide fluorescence situ (Oligo-FISH) was conducted identify individual and explore transmission during intraspecific results indicate progenies generated Yunnan2017-22 (2n = 8x 64) Yunnan82-1 emerged two distinct karyotypes, 2n 12x 96 (A1) 64 (A2, A33-1, A18).
