While prior research suggests that facial expression influences consumer behavior, it remains unclear under which conditions specific emotional expressions on social media drive sales performance and customer engagement. Drawing the feedback hypothesis congruence framework, two pre-registered experimental studies (N = 995) demonstrate fit between (broad vs. slight smile) endorsement type (hedonic utilitarian) influence engagement consumers' purchase intents. Findings indicate broad (vs. slight) smiles are more likely to enhance responses when paired with hedonic endorsements driven by contagion. Conversely, equally suited for both types of do not foster The findings offer actionable insights maximizing intents within marketing efforts.

The increasing integration of robots as service providers or companions in daily life has prompted extensive research on the emotional aspects human-robot interaction (HRI). Emotional contagion, a crucial factor influencing user experience HRI, gained considerable attention. However, limited explores influence anthropomorphism and gender differences robot modeling contagion leaving gap reference guidance for social design application. To address this, we investigate interactions scenarios, analyzing impact appearance, anthropomorphism, transmission positive negative emotions. experimental findings highlight significant role while revealing effect between contagion. This interdisciplinary study provides empirical evidence that enriches HRI contributes to more informed experiences.

This paper proposes a new deep learning approach to better understand how optimistic and pessimistic feelings are conveyed in Twitter conversations about COVID-19. A pre-trained transformer embedding is used extract the semantic features several network architectures compared. Model performance evaluated on two new, publicly available corpora of crisis-related posts. The best performing pessimism optimism detection models based bidirectional long- short-term memory networks. Experimental results four periods COVID-19 pandemic show proposed can model context health crisis. There total 150,503 tweets 51,319 unique users. Abstract Rapid facial mimicry (RFM), the rapid and automatic replication of expression perceived, is considered a basic form empathy was investigated mainly during play. RFM occurs in Catarrhini (Old World primates), but it not still demonstrated Platyrrhini (New primates). For this reason, we collected video data on playful interactions ( N play_interactions = 149) three species spider monkeys Ateles fusciceps — 11, hybridus 14, paniscus 6) housed at La Vallée des Singes ZooParc de Beauval (France). first time, occurrence (analyzing 175 events). Players' sex, age, species, relationship quality, kinship did modulate probably due to species' complex fission–fusion dynamics flexible interindividual social relationships. Compared absence any expressions or presence only replicated play face, prolonged session duration sequentially associated with more types intense offensive patterns (patterns aimed attacking/pursuing playmate). We proposed that may favor synchronization context sharing between players, thus decreasing risk behavior misinterpretation while simultaneously fostering competitive nature In conclusion, study stimulates additional research evolutionary origins motor primates, possibly dating back before divergence New Old monkeys.
