Abstract During observation of the ambiguous Necker cube, our perception suddenly reverses between two about equally possible 3D interpretations. passive observation, perceptual reversals seem to be sudden and spontaneous. A number theoretical approaches postulate destabilization neural representations as a precondition for spontaneous figures. In current study, we focused on EEG correlates destabilization, that may allow predict an upcoming reversal. We presented cube stimuli in onset-paradigm investigated processes underlying endogenous compared stability across consecutive stimulus presentations. separate experimental condition, disambiguated variants were alternated randomly, exogenously induce reversals. immediately before during with corresponding time windows induced variants.
