Introduction Fear of disease progression (FoP) has been identified as one the most prevalent unmet needs among breast cancer patients in recent years. The aim this study was to examine FoP with and explore its associations demographic clinical characteristics, self-management efficacy, family functioning. We also aimed create a clinically-relevant prediction model based off these factors (i.e., “nomogram”) help identify patients’ probability experiencing high FoP. Methods A cross-sectional survey at Affiliated Hospital Jiangnan University conducted from June 2023 February 2024. included Demographic Clinical Characteristics Questionnaire, Disease Progression Scale (FoP-Q-SF), Chinese Self-Management Efficacy for Cancer Patients (C-SUPPH), Family Care Index Questionnaire (APGAR). Data analysis descriptive statistics, independent-samples t -test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis. nomogram constructed on results performance evaluated. Results total 151 were enrolled study. mean (standard deviation) score 35.87 ± 9.24. average C-SUPPH 96.97 17.29, APGAR 6.74 2.98. showed that negatively correlated efficacy ( r = −0.544, p < 0.01) functioning −0.730, 0.01). Multiple age B −4.038), −0.085) −1.972) significantly related FoP, together explained 36% variation R 2 0.360, F 20.50, 0.001). variables satisfactory [the Bootstrap Correction Consistency (C-index) 0.872]. According previous studies, C-index >0.70 indicates is acceptable. Conclusion found greater fear associated younger age, lower poorer patients. Based variables, our exploratory should be further investigated order who may highest risk

Objectives: To determine clinically meaningful cut points for the Herth Hope Index and evaluate differences in demographic clinical characteristics, as well stress, resilience, coping, between patients with lower versus higher levels of hope.Sample & Setting: Outpatients cancer receiving chemotherapy (N = 1,295).Methods Variables: Patients completed Index, Multidimensional Quality Life Scale–Patient Version, coping measures prior to their second or third cycle chemotherapy. Results: Optimal were 40 less (i.e., level hope) greater than hope). The Lower group had a comorbidity burden functional status.Implications Nursing: Clinicians can use this information educate about interventions that decrease stress improve abilities. may benefit from having conversations clinicians authentically convey prognosis provide realistic sense hope.

Background Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers impose a significant burden on global public health. Patients often experience mental health challenges due to physical changes and treatment-related symptoms, which can worsen their condition or delay recovery. Although research is mounting in this field, visual bibliometric analysis has not yet been conducted. This study aims reveal the hotspots frontiers field using bibliometrics guide future research. Methods The publications GI cancer were retrieved Web of Science Core Collection from 2004 2024. VOS Viewer CiteSpace, as commonly used tools, employed visualize network structure data uncover evolving trends scientific fields. was identify keyword co-occurrences, while CiteSpace utilized generate visualizations, produce dual-map overlays journals, perform burst analysis. Results A total 1,118 included for China had highest number (341, 30.5%), United States held central position (centrality = 0.48). most productive author institution Floortje Mols Tilburg University, respectively. Keyword highlighted that “quality life” (QoL) prominent topic “complications,” “cancer-related fatigue,” (CRF) “chronic stress,” “epidemiology” have identified key areas Conclusion Research interest continues grow. direction mainly focused personalized interventions improve QoL, well preoperative healthcare ongoing care through internet-based multidisciplinary collaboration reduce postoperative complications. More detailed clinical symptom assessment needed distinguish between CRF issues provide targeted intervention measures future. mechanism effects occurrence development will be frontier.
