Impact of Using a Smart Diabetic Foot Care Application On Patients’ Knowledge and Self-Management (Preprint)

Diabetes is prevalent worldwide and a chronic metabolic disease. The study developed an application for the guidance of diabetic foot care to explore impact using on patients' assessment awareness self-care management. design was observational intervention with single-group pre- post-test wait lists (Introduction Wait List Control). This conducted survey in hospital from June 23, 2023, March 31, 2024, assess patients’ diabetes. administered at three time points: pre-intervention before “Diabetic Foot Care App” (Time 0), two months after 1), again later 2). percentage patients diabetes ulcer risk prediction model 86.3%. ABI index abnormal 82.4%. After Diabetic App, behavior improved significantly. Moreover, 99% participants discussed usability this application. most frequent terms subjective feedback users regarding "Diabetic App" were "convenient," "convenience," "clear," while expressing its ability provide professional knowledge real-time information.
