Background: The increase in problematic Internet use (PIU) among medical students and resident doctors during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may be leading to significant impairments everyday functioning, including sleeping patterns, anxiety, depressive symptoms, overall well-being. Compulsive Use Scale (CIUS) has been developed assess severity of PIU, however, it not elucidated whether this scale is also applicable doctors. first aim study was explore psychometric properties Lithuanian version CIUS. second examine associations between subjectively reported mental health symptoms PIU COVID-19 pandemic. Results: confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) suggested brief versions (CIUS-5, CIUS-7, CIUS-9) rather than original (CIUS-14) CIUS as reliable structurally stable instruments that can used measure compulsive sample most prevalent behaviors were social media (90.1%), shopping (15.6%), gaming/gambling (11.3%).
