Abstract: General practitioners observe a high prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms. Depressed or anxious patients frequently develop both conditions. The symptoms diseases may be present at the same time. There has been numerous studies on higher levels depression, bipolar disorder II, mixed depression. So, we ended up reviewing different drug delivery targets. Even low dosages, antidepressants were better absorbed more effective when given by nose. In this review, focused cutting-edge methods for intranasal antidepressant vehicles. Consequently, it seems that drugs are sufficiently effective, have fewer side effects, less expensive. researchers in metaanalysis set out to determine whether not they used successfully traditional medicine treat human animal studies.

Background: Unemployment impacts people’s physical and psychological well-being, gender age affect mental health among the unemployed. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has had a profound impact on individuals' mental health and well-being worldwide. This study investigated the prevalences of association between quality life (QOL) in Thailand after COVID-19 outbreak. A cross-sectional was conducted among Thai individuals aged ≥ 20 years across all regions. Descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to examine QOL. total 1,133 participants (mean age: 35.1 ± 17.2 years) completed survey. prevalence depression with PHQ-9 instrument 19.4%. Depression significantly associated those who have family members die from infection (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] 2.27, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.13-4.52]). percentages depression, anxiety, stress DASS-21 32.4%, 45.4%, 24.1%, respectively. Smokers alcohol consumption approximately 1.5-time higher risk compared non-smokers no (AOR = 1.50, CI [1.01-2.24], AOR 1.48, [1.09-2.02], respectively). An observed socioeconomic factors such as job income loss outcomes. Depression, negatively demonstrates strong QOL people findings underscore need for interventions targeting lifestyles, including addressing smoking, especially support services that can address improve overall population.

O transtorno depressivo é uma patologia de alta prevalência na população idosa. processode adoecimento multifatorial, sendo necessário analisar fatores biopsicossociais cadaperíodo, como a pandemia COVID-19 em 2020, que alterou o curso diversas patologiasdevido às medidas sanitárias adotadas e medo do adoecimento. Assim, analisa-se perfilepidemiológico da idosa com maior recorrente (CID F32 eF33) por meio taxa mortalidade número óbitos idosos nos anos 2019 e2020, âmbito nacional nas regiões: Norte, Nordeste, Centro-Oeste, Sudeste Sul, porfaixa etária (60-69 anos, 70-79 80 ou mais), sexo, cor/raça, escolaridade, estado civil elocal ocorrência. Esta pesquisa caracteriza-se um estudo epidemiológicoretrospectivo ecológico, dados coletados no Sistema Informações sobre Mortalidadeda Saúde (SIM) Departamento Informática Único Brasil(DATASUS). Os resultados mostram aumento pordepressão, 1,93 1000 habitantes para 2,46 2020,com também todas as regiões brasileiras, excetuando aRegião Sul. No ano 2019, Região apresentou óbitos, seguidapelas Centro-Oeste Norte. Porém, ocorreu aumentosignificativo ultrapassando Emrelação idade, faixa mais acometida dois analisados foi oumais. Em relação ao houve casos tanto homens quantoem mulheres, porém mulheres foram afetadas. à populaçãobranca afetada, seguida pardos, pretos, ignorados amarelos. Vale ressaltarque inexistem acerca indígena analisados. 1-3 escolaridade os acometidos,seguidos nenhuma 4-7 ignorados, 8-11 12 mais. civil, viúvos representaram seguidos porcasados, solteiros, separados judicialmente outros. local deocorrência, observou-se dos domicílio redução dosóbitos hospitalares entre 2020. perfil epidemiológico populaçãoidosa depressivo, base mortalidade, pré durante apandemia foi: idoso mais, brancos, menor nível deescolaridade, óbito domiciliar. Dessa forma, baseado nesse obtido,busca-se melhoria serviço saúde mental prestado sejaconsoante envelhecimento ativo saudável proposto pela Organização Mundial daSaúde princípio equidade Saúde, políticaspúblicas direcionadas aqueles afetados.

Introdução: Evidências na literatura indicam expressiva prevalência de Transtornos Depressivos (TD(s)) em idosos, associada a desafios no rastreamento e diagnóstico da depressão.No entanto, há limitação sobre as evidências acerca quadros depressivos subsindrômicos variáveis epidemiológicas associadas aos TD(s), especialmente ambiente ambulatorial.Objetivos: Avaliar sociodemográficas, clínicas psiquiátricas à presença um TD, Transtorno Depressivo Maior (TDM) ou Depressão Subsindrômica (DSS).Além disso, buscou-se estimar dos avaliar acurácia diagnóstica do Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Geriatric Depressive Scale-15 item (GDS-15) comparação com classificação Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-5 th (DSM-5), identificar independentes TD(s).Métodos: Este estudo utilizou dados uma coorte prospectiva 358 idosos (idade ≥ 60 anos) atendidos ambulatório Geriatria.Foram realizadas análises baseline (transversal) após 12 meses seguimento (longitudinal).Os participantes foram submetidos questionários para avaliação clínica psiquiátrica, além medidas antropométricas desempenho físico.O depressão foi realizado acordo os critérios DSM-5.Para rastrear medir intensidade depressão, utilizados instrumentos PHQ-9 GDS-15.A associação entre interesse avaliada por meio testes quiquadrado, exato Fisher Kruskal-Wallis.A análise realizada curva Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC).Modelos regressão logística binária univariada multivariada fatores risco independentes.Resultados: Diversas mostraram estatisticamente significativa algum incluindo gênero, autoavaliação saúde, funcionalidade, nutricional, indicadores fragilidade sarcopenia, velocidade marcha, histórico prévio uso atual antidepressivos.A TDM 20,1%, superior DSS.Houve taxa conversão o ao longo 10,3%.O demonstrou superior, quando comparado GDS-15, melhores Area Under the Curve (AUC) grupos "Sem depressão" (0,886) (0,89).Fatores DSS incluíram antidepressivos odds ratio (OR) 1,15 1,16, sintomatologia depressiva pelo 1,03 1,03, respectivamente.Conclusão: Nossos reforçam alta nossa amostra.Nossos resultados importância condução mais estudos longitudinais ambientes ambulatoriais compreensão aprofundada evolução TD(s) idosos.Essa abordagem proporcionará valiosos desenvolvimento estratégias prevenção intervenção eficazes.Descritores: subsindrômica

The comorbidity between late-life depression and neurocognitive disorders (NCDs) in the elderly is a subject of increasing interest within scientific medical community. We conducted narrative review clinical studies focused on NCDs, primarily covering articles published over past 25 years. Compared with younger adults, often characterized by difficulties expressing sadness, more pronounced somatic, anxiety, psychotic symptoms, as well heightened risk suicide cognitive impairment. Depressive symptoms may mimic act prodromal signs future or represent dimension dementia. NCDs share specific similarities, particularly at illness onset, emphasizing importance early differential diagnosis to guide development precise, integrated, tailored interventions.

Depression is a major health problem, especially for elderly people. According to the “homocysteine hypothesis of depression”, high homocysteine levels may cause depression mood via cerebrovascular diseases. Whilst biologically plausible, such needs yet confirmation. We aimed at: 1) studying relationships between homocysteinemia (HCY) and in community-dwelling cohort people aged 70 75 years at baseline; 2) investigating plasma HCY 3) comparing these males females, same population. exploited data from four waves (2010, 2012, 2014 2018) longitudinal study “InveCeAb”, with specific regard towards assessment, by Geriatric Scale (GDS) scoring, diagnosis clinically relevant or subthreshold depression. were measured 2018. Sample attrition was due mainly death overall worsening. No statistically significant differences found each wave, according depressive symptoms. correlations wave their corresponding GDS scores, even after adjustment folate cobalamin blood concentrations. Dichotomized (≤15 vs >15 μM/l) not associated dichotomized scores (≤4 higher), any antidepressive use, wave. First (2012) increased participants’ increasing age, cross-sectionally. Listwise concentrations decreased along 3 waves. always higher than females. Our results challenge hypothesis” depression, whilst supporting role as marker bad health.
