Video
games,

entertainment,
enjoyed
non-problematically
by
many
individuals
worldwide.
However,
uncontrolled
gaming
and
the
occurrence
of
its
negative
consequences
require
appropriate
diagnosis.
Gaming
disorder
manifests
as
uncontrolled,
persistent,
or
recurrent
behaviour
with
taking
priority,
despite
impact
on
personal
functioning.

narrative
review
summarizes
research
from
the
years
2019-2024
on
internet
gaming
disorder
in
children.
Results:
recent
suggests
a
prevalence
rate
ranging
20%
Brazil

62%
Saudi
Arabia,

studies
reported
an
average
of
much
lower

anxiety,

Abstract:
Background:
Interest
in
the
DSM-5
diagnosis
of
Internet
Gaming
Disorder
(IGD)
has
grown
steadily.
Multiple
valid
screening
instruments
for
IGD
exist
from
adolescence
onward.
Yet,
even
children
might
already
be
at
risk
developing
IGD,
which
few
psychometric
scales
exist.
Objective:
This
study
tests
whether
it
is
possible
to
replicate
properties
Video
Game
Dependency
Scale
(CSAS)
children.
Methods:
We
collected
parent-report
data
N
=
842
children,
aged
8
12
years,
a
mixed
school
and
clinical
sample.
analyzed
descriptively
total
item
levels;
we
also
conducted
reliability
factor
analyses.
Results:
In
its
parental
version,
CSAS
shows
good
comparable
compared
self-report
adolescents.
