Background Dentofacial deformity (DFD) is a disease in which the maxillary complex markedly diverges from normal proportions. The incidence of DFD approximately 20% worldwide, and patients with DFDs are at increased risk for depression. Attention should be given to depression DFDs. However, factors affecting remain unclear. Previous studies have suggested that type esthetic expectations may influence patient depression, but few clarified effects on Methods A total 471 were enrolled. diagnosis was made by two maxillofacial surgeons according Angle’s classification. visual analog assessment scale used assess patients’ expectations. 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire module utilized explore SPSS 26.0 analyze data this study. Results Compared who had master’s degree or above, those high school education more prone (OR=3.848, 95% CI: 1.546-9.574). Class II DFDs, III associated greater (OR=1.458, 1.007–2.078). extremely low expectations, (OR: 2.25, 1.053–4.086) Conclusions Patients education, diagnosed higher above populations need psychological support.
