Abstract Despite investments in evidence-based interventions and Implementation Science, most are not widely or routinely adopted, delivered, sustained many real-world community healthcare settings. This gap is even greater settings populations experiencing numerous social structural barriers to health, with important implications for persistent patterns health inequities. In this Viewpoint, as part of a Special Issue on Advancing the Adaptability Chronic Disease Prevention Management through Science , we outline seven calls action field goal encouraging researchers, practitioners, funders be more intentional accountable applying have impact promoting equity. Calls include (1) enhance public community, multi-sectoral partnerships promote equity equitable implementation; (2) revisit build evidence base needed at multiple levels; (3) prioritize focus policy development, dissemination, (4) agile responsive application frameworks, processes, methods; (5) identify redefine meaningful metrics impact; (6) disseminate scientific research diverse range partners potential beneficiaries; (7) extend de-implementation, mis-implementation, sustainability which central enhancing Additionally, why prevention essential making progress towards summarize advancements that has made foundational, pose questions work area.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is routinely recommended for adolescents aged 11 or 12 years but can begin at age 9. On-time HPV by the thirteenth birthday has proven to be effective in preventing cancer and pre-cancer. However, coverage rates continue lag behind other vaccinations adolescents. A promising approach improving start This been endorsed American Academy of Pediatrics Cancer Society. Benefits this include increased time complete series birthday, additional spacing vaccines, a more concentrated focus on prevention messaging. The promise of adaptation and adaptive designs in implementation science has been hindered by the lack clarity precision defining what it means to adapt, especially regarding distinction between study strategies. To ensure a common language for practice, authors reviewed literature found that term was used describe interventions, strategies, trial designs. provide offer recommendations reporting strengthening design, we propose taxonomy describes fixed versus strategies improve impact, (a) futureimplementation studies should prespecify strategy core functions turn can be taught replicated health system/community partners, (b) funders support exploratory refine specify (c) investigators systematically address design requirements ethical considerations (e.g., randomization, blinding/masking) with partners.

Abstract Rapid adaptation of healthcare services during public health emergencies is key in ensuring continuous delivery essential services. However, challenges associated with rapid can lead to disruptions care delivery, impacting responses population needs. To prepare for a prompt future response, it important identify and understand the barriers facilitators influencing efforts. A systematic integrative review was conducted between March October 2022, five healthcare-related databases searched from 2012. Weekly auto-alerts continued until 2023. The Mixed-Methods Appraisal Tool used quality assessment data extraction using Consolidated Framework Implementation Research. Seventeen eligible studies utilised quantitative (10/17, 59%), mixed-methods (4/17, 23%) or qualitative designs (3/17, 18%). Most service happened within 3 months after World Health Organisation declared Coronavirus disease pandemic (13/17, 76%), telehealth being that occurred. Inner setting process factors served as both facilitators. Two additional not present consolidated framework, namely: (1) emergency command control at level (2) acceptability resilience, were identified adaptation. This underscores while rapidly adapted initial pandemic, inadequate readiness may have hindered their capacity respond inclusively, potentially on sustainability Addressing these issues will support greater preparation emergencies.

Implementing evidence-based practices has become a standard policy in U.S. behavioral health care. However, current penetration remains inadequate, and longitudinal studies of scaling up these are rare. This article examined the steady, 3-decade growth individual placement support (IPS), model employment services for people with psychiatric disabilities. The number IPS programs United States increased to >1,000. Nevertheless, coverage limited, challenges further substantial. Facilitators over past few decades include client demand, scientific evidence, initial financial from foundations, subsequent federal agency support, state leadership vocational rehabilitation, standardized training quality assurance methods, an international learning community, collection national data establish benchmarks. Challenges expansion complexity multiple partial funding sources; increasing use information technology training, implementation, assurance; extension new populations settings; outreach historically marginalized groups (e.g., young adults not engaged mental system); employer partnerships; adaptations related cultural, workforce, workplace changes. Developing reliable research methods assess compare scaling-up strategies is also critical.
