Parkinson ’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons and accumulation misfolded α-synuclein protein aggregates. A central aspect PD pathophysiology mitochondrial dysfunction resulting oxidative stress, both which contribute to neuronal degeneration progression. total 121 patients were included in sample, selected using snowball sampling techniques. Data collected through structured interviews medical records, ensuring inclusion demographic information, duration, stage, current treatment regimens. The analysis revealed that majority participants male (53.7%), with highest age group falling 60-69 years range (33.1%). duration varied, most (45.5%) being diagnosed within last 5 years. study also explored comorbidities, hypertension (41.3%) common, followed diabetes (24.8%) cardiovascular (16.5%). The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) has significantly impacted healthcare, including sexually transmitted infection (STI) management in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), particularly among key populations (KPs) with limited access to health services. This review investigates 4IR technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), that assist diagnosing, treating, managing STIs across SSA. By leveraging affordable accessible solutions, tools support KPs who are disproportionately affected by STIs. Following systematic guidelines using Covidence, this study examined 20 relevant studies conducted SSA countries, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe emerging as the most researched nations. All reviewed used secondary data favored supervised ML models, random forest XGBoost frequently demonstrating high performance. These tracking services, predicting risks of STI/HIV, developing models for community HIV clusters. While AI enhanced accuracy diagnostics efficiency management, several challenges persist, ethical concerns, issues quality, a lack expertise implementation. There few real-world applications or pilot projects Notably, primarily focus on development, validation, technical evaluation methods rather than their practical application As result, actual impact these approaches point care remains unclear. highlights effectiveness various through detection, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring. strengthens knowledge technologies Understanding potential improve sexual outcomes, address gaps STI surpass limitations traditional syndromic approaches.

ABSTRACT We aimed to assess how control measures during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic affected metabolic health of people with noncommunicable diseases when severe restrictions on movement and safety concerns prevented use traditional methods data collection. To identify study participants, we attempted hospital laboratory databases in Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad Tobago. planned contact participants by telephone for verbal consent complete a questionnaire extract information (blood pressure anthropometric data) from their medical records. In this article, describe challenges collecting systems conduct research COVID-19. Only one four hospitals selected had dedicated technology personnel able access sampling. When were obtained through commercial vendor, lack unique identifiers made it difficult link these reports records containing information.
