Dünyada meydana gelen doğal afetler, yangınlar, savaşlar, salgın hastalıklar ve daha birçok olumsuz durumların yanı sıra eğitim iş imkânları gibi bazı durumlar bireylerin kendi ulusal sınırları dışına, bir yerden diğer yerlere göç etmelerine neden olmaktadır. Yabancı göçü yer değiştirme ile ev sahibi ülkedeki bireyler yabancıların kaynaklarını tüketeceği, güvenliğin bozulacağı etkene sebep olabilecekleri düşüncesiyle rahatsızlık hissedebilirler. Bu zaman toplum bireyleri arasında kültürlerarası iletişim kaygısı zenofobi (yabancı düşmanlığı) algılara olabilir. bilgiler çerçevesinde araştırmanın amacı arasındaki etkileşimi belirlemektir. Araştırmanın temel sorusu “kültürlerarası etkileşiminde cinsiyet düzenleyici rol oynamakta mıdır” şeklinde belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sorusunu cevaplayabilmek için Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi öğrencileri örnekleminde (n=391) uygulama yapılmış olup elde edilen veriler SPSS 25 AMOS 26 programlarıyla analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda pozitif yönlü anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca kaygısının üzerinde yine etki bulgular algısını güçlendirdiğini göstermektedir. Buna ek olarak cinsiyetin etkisinde kadın öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre fazla farklılaştığı Diğer ifadeyle kadınların algıları erkeklere yüksek Araştırmada literatürde sınırlı incelenen iki değişkenin ele alınması değişkeninin araştırma modelinde alması çalışmanın özgün yönünü ortaya koymaktadır. sonuç bölümünde bulguları ışığında teorik pratik önerilere verilmiştir.

Developing the Chinese version of the Index of Sojourner Social Support: the roles of socio-emotional and instrumental support in internal migrant university students DOI Creative Commons

Introduction This study aims to validate the Index of Sojourner Social Support (ISSS)—a widely-used scale for measuring social support in cross-cultural (including cross-national and internal) migrations—in Chinese contexts among internal migrant university students explore how such can facilitate their psychological adjustment. Methods One thousand six hundred ninety-two who migrated from all around China city Shanghai participated this study. The ISSS was translated according strict procedures. Item analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability measurement equivalence test, criterion validity incremental test version (ISSS-C) were carried out. Results ISSS-C generated by had two dimensions (socio-emotional instrumental support) 18 items. model fit excellent (χ 2 /df = 5.64, CFI 0.96, TLI 0.95, SRMR 0.03, RMSEA 0.06). McDonald's omegas its subscales both 0.96. also excellent. Instrumental significantly influenced students' adjustment host culture, partially establishing scale. Discussion exhibits good psychometric properties is appropriate perceived cultural contexts. Further, assist them psychologically adjusting well local environments.

Objective This study aims to explore Chinese university students’ multicultural personalities and examine how they predict the psychological adjustment of students in Shanghai. In addition, validation Multicultural Personality Questionnaire Short Form (MPQ-SF) scale developed assess personality traits individuals is also aimed context. Data were collected after stresses from restrictions imposed by COVID-19 China that influenced life adjustments for nearly three years. Method A total 1,099 participated this multi-stage study. First, version MPQ-SF (MPQ-SF-C) was validated. The impact MPQ-SF-C dimensions then tested through path analysis establish effects on their using Schwartz Outcome Scale (SOS-10). Results yielded a five-factor solution which accounted 60.14% common variance. findings indicated cultural empathy (β = 0.23, p < 0.05), certainty seeking 0.13, open-mindedness 0.48, emotional stability 0.24, 0.05) had significant influences adjustment. Intercultural communication (IC) and international students go side by in this era of internationalization higher education. The key concepts IC, namely intercultural effectiveness (ICE), competence (ICC), adjustment (ICA), adaptation (ICN) are used interchangeably the literature. However, present study argues that stated theoretically different further proposes ICE, ICC, ICA, ICN phases IC. Based on these conceptual differences, a comprehensive model IC (CMIC) is proposed study. CMIC explains four principally developmental for to become interculturally effective adapting new culture. current research offers preliminary testing CMIC, which applied Shanghai, China through quantitative followed survey.
