Psychometric Evaluation of Eating Behaviors and Mental Health Among University Students in China and Pakistan: A Cross-Cultural Study

Eating

the
psychometric
properties
of
Nine-Item
Avoidant/Restrictive
Food
Intake
Disorder
Scale
(NIAS),
Düsseldorf
Orthorexia
(DOS),
Night
Syndrome
Questionnaire
(NESQ),
Zung's
Self-Rating
Depression
(SDS),
Perceived
Stress
(PSS)
students
in
China
Pakistan
to
assess
reliability
validity
explore
relationships
between
behaviors
mental
health.
Initially,
responses
from
1056
were
obtained,
which
reduced
1002
after
screening.
Sociodemographic
data
collected.
Descriptive
statistics,
analysis,
Confirmatory
Factor
Analysis
(CFA)
performed
using
SPSS
Moment
Structures
(AMOS).
The
demographic
showed
that
52%
participants
female
48%
male,
with
a
mean
age
22.13
±
3.86
years.
Most
single
(93.2%)
had
BMI
22.06
4.02
kg/m2.
NIAS
high
internal
consistency
(Cronbach's
Alpha:
0.731),
CFA
revealed
strong
factor
loadings
(0.57-0.79).
DOS
good
(factor
loadings:
0.53-0.77).
NESQ
indicated
higher
night
Chinese
students,
who
also
stress
(PSS:
Mean
Difference
=
4.116,
95%
CI:
3.36-4.87)
depression
(SDS:
0.229,
0.19-0.27)
compared
Pakistani
more
(NIAS:
-0.422,
-0.51
-0.33).

A
depressão
na
atualidade
é
considera
o
mal
do
século,
são
diversos
fatores
e
mecanismos
para
desenvolvimento,
manutenção
progressão
desta
doença
psiquiátrica
crônica.
Devido
ao
seu
crescimento
exponencial
nos
ultimos
anos,
principalmente
após
a
pandemia
de
COVID
19,
houve
um
aumento
significativo
estudos
formulação
novas
técnicas
habilidades
famacológicas
não
enfrentamento
da
depressão,
como
caso
promoção
atividade
física
forma
preventiva
terapêutica.
Desta
forma,
presente
estudou
objetivou
investigar
os
benefícios
prática
regular
atividades
físicas
no
tratamento
indivíduos
diagnosticados
com
depressão.
Como
percurso
metodológico
foi
realizado
uma
revisão
narrativa
literatura,
busca
nas
bases
dado
Scielo,
Pubmed
Biblioteca
Virtual
em
Saúde,
foram
selecionados
12
artigos
idiomas
inglês
português
últimos
5
2020
à
2024.
Em
conclusão
demonstrou
gama
que
lidam
Além
dos
efeitos
diretos
sobre
neurotransmissores
associados
humor,
serotonina,
dopamina
noradrenalina,
exercícios
também
estimulam
neurogênese
hipocampo,
parte
cérebro
responsável
pelo
processamento
emocional,
promove
melhoria
sono
por
regulação
ciclo
sono-vigília,
reduz
isolamneto
social
melhora
bem
estar
pois
proporciona
engajamento
sensação
pertencimento.
