Main streets are community hubs of economic and cultural activity, often represented by a business organization tasked with improving the experience environment through place making management, marketing to attract visitors. These responsibilities overlap functions roles tourism destination organizations but on more local level. The purpose this study, therefore, is advance conceptualizations visitor economy main as destinations further understand their role potential within frameworks. This qualitative exploratory study involved thematic analysis semistructured interviews 36 representatives Canadian street [Business Improvement Areas (BIAs)]. Findings demonstrate that engagement part work function organizations, both in own right components wider regional systems. COVID-19 created immediate potentially sustained demand for travel lad establishment strengthening partnerships between representing communities at different scales.
