This cross-sectional study aimed to analyse the factors contributing state body appreciation (SBA) during exercise. After providing their informed consent, 200 participants (mean age 30.0 ± 9.4 years, 72.0% were men) filled in an online questionnaire immediately after completion of resistance training (n = 125), cardiovascular exercise 55), or functional/interval group 20) sessions. The measures included socio-demographic variables, mass index (BMI), duration involvement sports, SBA, surveillance (SBS), mindfulness physical activity, intrinsic regulation, and perceived pleasantness results showed that exercisers involved sports for >2 years those whose weight was within a healthy range (<25.0 kg/m2) demonstrated higher SBA exercise, lower SBS, more satisfaction activity compared with less experience (≤2 years) than (≥25.0 kg/m2). negative effects being overweight obese pronounced individuals ≤2 participation, except regarding monitoring mind. significantly sessions longer BMI greater mindful acceptance pleasantness. Decreasing SBS enhancing acceptance, pleasantness, motivation might contribute activity. These can inform physical-activity-based programmes aiming promote positive image. This study examined the effects of Nirvana Fitness (NF) program on state body appreciation (BA) and its correlates, as well mechanisms that could explain these changes. The participants were allocated to NF (n = 21) functional training (control, n 22) groups participated in an 8-week exercise intervention. mean age was 24.4 ± 6.7. filled out online questionnaires measures BA, surveillance (BS), functionality appreciation, body–mind connection, mindfulness physical activity (SMS-PA), intrinsic motivation (IM), satisfaction basic psychological needs, perceived fitness (PPF) immediately after first last sessions. results revealed a significant improvement BA correlates both groups, with no changes PPF group or IM either group. An interaction between time change relatedness, indicating stronger effect Positive SMS-PA, BS, need for relatedness significantly predicted BA. These findings highlight importance targeting mindfulness, surveillance, during interventions aimed at promoting positive image university-aged women.
