This study investigated the effects of microenapsulated hydrolyzed tannins (MHTs) on growth performance and meat quality Zhongshan shelducks. A total 288 healthy shelducks with an average initial weight 1790.27 ± 0.14 kg were randomly divided into four groups through a 56 d experiment period fed basal diet supplemented 0 (CON), 400, 800, 1600 mg/kg MHTs, respectively. Results showed that 400 800 MHTs improved final body weight, daily gain, glutathione peroxidase activity, antioxidant capacity compared to CON (p ≤ 0.05). The decreased shear force increased yield pectoralis major muscle Dietary inosine monophosphate content percentage C14:0 in meat; however, b*45 min value, 48 h drip loss, but intramuscular fat (IMF) was increase Compared CON, IMF, C18:1n-9, C18:2n-6, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated unsaturated acids Furthermore, lipid metabolism IMF deposition, acid uptake, adipogenesis by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma pathway regulate synthetase lipoprotein lipase genes. In conclusion, diets could improve growth, quality, capacity,

This study was conducted to compare the effects of hydrolysable versus condensed tannins on growth performance, nutrient digestion, and rumen fermentation in goats. A total 27 Liaoning cashmere goats with similar initial body weights were randomly distributed into three groups: a basal diet, diet +0.5% tannic acid (hydrolysable tannin, HT), or quebracho tannin (condensed CT), respectively. Compared control group, HT showed decreased (p < 0.05) feed intake, while CT an increased intake weight gain. Digestibility dry matter, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, fiber did not differ > among groups. The group lower pH acetic concentration 0.05), decrease abundances Verrucomicrobia Methanobrevibacter. Supplementation levels dihydrouracil, xanthosine, alpha-D-mannose, L-tryptophan, these metabolites. In conclusion, this suggested that responses ruminal microbiota metabolite profiles type varied, displayed more positive effect performance than when supplemented at same level diets.
