For example, groups better likely have low fragility (Good system OR 4.61, p < 0.001), those poorer unlikely (Poor 0.14). Additionally, less experience discrimination 0.58, 0.001) more (Moderate Poor ORs 1.37, 0.001). These findings emphasize need policies addressing such as economic inequality improve utilization. Goat farming represents a critical component of rural livelihoods, food security, and cultural heritage in southeastern Tunisia. This study adopts multi-stakeholder approach to analyze the goat value chain Tataouine, incorporating focus groups, semi-structured questionnaires, direct observations with 80 farmers, 3 veterinarians, 13 butchers, 100 consumers. The findings reveal strong local demand, 72% consumers purchasing meat 66% consuming milk. However, significant inefficiencies exist, particularly misalignment between production market requirements: while 92% butchers prefer fattened animals, only 16% farmers engage fattening practices. Women constitute 49% dairy processors, yet face persistent resource constraints. Climate pressures exacerbate these challenges, 80% reporting water scarcity 93.8% observing pasture degradation. Three strategic interventions emerge as pivotal for sustainable development: targeted support feed-efficient techniques, establishment women-led processing collectives, implementation climate-resilient management systems.
