Objective This study aims to examine the correlation between overactive bladder (OAB) and food insecurity. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional analysis utilizing extensive population data derived from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey 2007–2018. The status of Household insecurity is evaluated by US Food Security Module. To explore relationship OAB, three multivariable logistic regression models were carried out. Additionally, interaction stratified analyses also performed find whether some factors have potential alter correlation. Results There 29,129 participants enrolled in study. Compared other groups, individuals with full security exhibited lower proportion nocturia, urinary urgency incontinence, OAB. In fully-adjusted model, it was found that people experiencing significantly higher prevalence OAB compared those model (OR = 1.540, 95%CI 1.359–1.745). there significant association levels an increased risk observed (marginal security: OR 1.312, low 1.559, very 1.759). No seen model. Conclusion strong positive Similarly, indicates same trend. Namely, more insecure food, population.

Abstract Background Food insecurity is a significant risk factor for chronic and infectious diseases. It also barrier to accessing healthcare because food tends co-occur with other socioeconomic disadvantages. The objective of this study examine whether insecure individuals in South Korea can access desired level when needed. Methods This repeated cross-sectional used data from the 2013–2015 2019–2021 waves Korean National Health Nutrition Examination Survey. Multivariable logistic regression models were association between household two indicators unmet needs - any experience forgoing medical service reasons (problems availability, acceptability, accessibility). Covariates indicating predisposing, enabling, need factors included analyses. Results Of 19,394 participants aged 19–64 years, 4.5% moderately insecure, 0.9% severely 9.3% reported needs. In adjusted model, moderate (OR, 1.47; 95% CI, 1.19–1.82) severe 3.32; 2.27–4.85) associated higher odds dose-graded manner. These associations largely due increased accessibility-related among 2.31; 1.68–3.19) 6.15; 3.91–9.68). Conclusions was adults. Competing life demands may have cumulative impact on health over short long term. Efforts address trade-offs improve well-being marginalized populations.

Objective: This study examines the longitudinal association between household food insecurity and healthcare utilization expenditure. Methods: A multi-wave cohort was conducted using 2008-2019 2021 waves of Korean Welfare Panel Study. The baseline data included participants aged ≥19 years with valid responses to questionnaires in 2008 wave (n = 12,166). Healthcare outcomes encompassed outpatient visits, inpatient admissions, days hospitalized, personal Random effects Poisson linear regressions were estimated. Results: Severe associated a higher incidence rate visits (IRR, 1.14; 95% CI, 1.12-1.17), hospitalization 1.18; 1.13-1.22), admissions 1.40; 1.18-1.65). Moderate 10.4% (β -0.11; -0.14 -0.07) or 238,276 KRW reductions expenditures subsequent year. Conclusion: Household linked increased reduced expenditure among adults.
