Purpose This study aims to examine the post-return-to-office challenges faced by internal audit (IA) division of a financial services firm, focusing on employee retention. It explore policy adjustments necessary align with evolving expectations workforce influenced Generation Z and pandemic-induced shifts in work dynamics. Design/methodology/approach Using systematic review methodology, follows seven-stage process, including development research questions, protocol creation, evidence gathering, quality assessment, data extraction synthesizing findings. approach ensures comprehensive analysis current state satisfaction retention strategies within IA division. Findings The identifies three critical insights: need for enhanced flexibility better work–life balance, growing demand continuous learning opportunities, importance promoting equity inclusion workplace. Research limitations/implications Conducted an 11-week time frame, this rapid assessment limitations relied single researcher limited databases. might not encompass external factors affecting retention, like industry changes, economic fluctuations or competitive shifts.
