Lowering the storage temperature is an effective method to extend postharvest and shelf life of fruits. Nevertheless, this technique often leads physiological disorders, commonly known as chilling injuries. Apples pears are susceptible injuries, among which superficial scald most economically relevant. Superficial due necrotic lesions first layers hypodermis manifested through skin browning. In peaches nectarines, injuries characterized by internal symptoms, such mealiness. Fruits with these aesthetic or compositional/structural defects not suitable for fresh consumption. Genetic variation a key factor in determining fruit susceptibility injuries; however, physiological, technical aspects harvest maturity conditions also play role. Multi-omics approaches have been used provide integrated explanation injury development. Metabolomics pome fruits specifically targets identification ethylene, phenols, lipids, oxidation products. Genomics transcriptomics revealed interesting connections metabolomic datasets, pinpointing specific genes linked cold stress, wax synthesis, farnesene metabolism, metabolic pathways ascorbate glutathione. When applied Prunus species, cutting-edge uncovered that development mealiness symptoms ethylene signaling, cell wall lipid stress genes, increased DNA methylation levels. Emphasizing findings from multi-omics studies, review reports how integration omics datasets can new insights into understanding This information essential successfully creating more resilient varieties developing novel strategies.

Summary Melatonin (MT), a natural signalling compound derived from tryptophan, has gained significant attention for delaying postharvest ripening and senescence in various fruits vegetables. In the present study, effect of MT treatment was evaluated on shelf‐life bell pepper. Fruits were dipped concentrations (70, 120, 170, 220 μmol L −1 ) 20 min stored at 10 ± 1 °C days. The pepper treated with 120 significantly suppressed respiration, weight loss delayed chlorophyll degradation. Additionally, (120 reduced firmness, titratable acidity retained total phenol, flavonoid ascorbic acid content. It hindered malondialdehyde accumulation by enhanced DPPH radical scavenging antioxidant enzyme activity like superoxide dismutase, catalase peroxidase, over control. Conclusively, prolongs days superior sensory quality, surpassing control Therefore, is commercially useful technology maintaining quality prolonging

Abstract The yield of Tartary buckwheat is significantly affected by continuous cropping. Melatonin plays a crucial role in plant defense mechanisms against abiotic stresses. However, the relationship between melatonin and cropping tolerance remains unclear. This study aimed to analyze physiological mechanism enhancing (abiotic stress) buckwheat. A field experiment was conducted on cultivar Jinqiao 2 under with five application rates, 0 (Control), 10, 50, 100, 200 μmol L −1 , applied during early budding stage. chlorophyll content, antioxidant enzyme activity, osmolyte auxin (IAA) contents, root rhizosphere soil nutrient agronomic traits initially increased then decreased an increase concentration exogenous application, best effects observed at 100 . Compared Control treatment, treatment contents malondialdehyde, superoxide anion free radical, abscisic acid (ABA) average 28.79%, 27.08%, 31.64%, respectively. Exogenous Plants treated μM respectively had 1.88, 2.01, 2.20, 1.78 times higher than those treatment. In summary, particularly enhanced increasing capacity osmotica coordinating endogenous ABA IAA content levels, delaying senescence, ultimately yield.

Across two years experiment, three different cultivars (cv.s. ‘Cosmopolitan’, ‘Hortblue Poppins’ ‘Legacy’) were treated with 1% 100 µM every weeks during ripening season ripe progressively harvested analysed. The treatment both elicitors had only slight effects dry matter, soluble solids content, titratable acidity pH, a cultivar-dependent response.
