The advent of digital transformation has precipitated the rapid evolution rural e-commerce on a global scale, thereby metamorphosing into pivotal catalyst for propelling economic transformation, catalyzing agricultural modernization, and mitigating divide between urban regions. This study focuses China as research area develops an evaluation index system grounded in concept sustainability. then undertakes comprehensive analysis effectiveness development primary obstacles encountered from 2014 to 2023. findings indicate that technological innovation, construction, ecological environment resource utilization play role promoting sustainable e-commerce. Food security remains a critical challenge in Bangladesh, with many households experiencing periodic shortages and nutritional deficiencies. It is necessary to ensure consistent adequate food supply for its rapidly growing population, amidst economic environmental vulnerabilities. In light of this, this study looks into the association between household asset ownership, addressing whether increasing accumulation can significantly improve status among households. Using panel data two rounds comprehensive inclusive Bangladesh Integrated Household Surveys (BIHS-2015, 2018), fixed-effects model used take endogeneity issues unobserved heterogeneity consideration. The consumption score per capita calorie are employed determine security. result found that productive assets positively considerably impact availability calories ownership strengthens households’ income-generating capacity. Furthermore, there additional significant variables support resources, like annual income farm size, which closely linked enhancing intake as well. Enhancing vulnerable could bolster Moreover, policies aimed at diversifying improving access markets provide buffer against insecurity. By focusing on asset-building strategies, policymakers foster more resilient system ensures all while also incomes by owning assets.

How Social Capital Drives Farmers’ Multi-Stage E-Commerce Participation: Evidence from Inner Mongolia, China DOI Creative Commons

The development of new e-commerce platforms has become a crucial driver economic growth in developing countries, driven by the global wave digitalization and informatization. However, research on underdeveloped rural areas China remains scarce, with even less focus farmers’ behaviors. Based China’s unique characteristics, this study conducts field survey 346 households Inner Mongolia. Using Triple-Hurdle mediation effect models through lens social capital, examines how capital digital literacy influence short-term decisions long-term investments participation across three dimensions: “willingness”, “choice”, “degree participation”. aim is to identify leverage as well enhance promote sustainable e-commerce. results show following: (1) Among surveyed farmers, 198 expressed willingness engage e-commerce, 118 participated, only 1 household reached level above 50%. This underscores insufficient engagement ongoing challenges (2) Social critical factor, positively affects participate, choice degree at 1% significance level, regression coefficients 1.386, 1.202, 0.119, respectively. Its impact strongest early stages fostering willingness, followed its choice. diminishes due involvement other complex factors. (3) enhances plays mediating role process which influences behavior. (4) Heterogeneity analysis shows that during actual participation, behaviors more pronounced among farmers smaller sizes higher income levels. these findings, recommends building different farmer groups, establishing online information-sharing platforms, offering tailored technical training for diverse demographics.
