ABSTRACT For the first time, possibility of using infrared thermography to capture temperature vulval skin surface around calving process in order forecast when buffaloes' will begin has been investigated. FLUKE thermal camera was used record (VSST) and ocular temperature. Twenty‐eight multiparous pregnant buffaloes had their thermograms taken at 6‐h intervals between 96th hour before anticipated 24th after calving. The eye showed a ΔT 0.56°C 0.45°C, respectively, indicating considerable drop from 48 h On other hand, starting 6 calving, an upward trend. There minimal effect circadian influence on temperature, as evidenced by identical significant declining pattern residual both VSST 0 Nonetheless, reduction is ascribed progesterone, which lowers vascular perfusion cutaneous circulation. Our study's findings suggested that, related signatures, variation relation observed digital imaging could be explored potential tool for predicting onset impending within −48 h.
