Polyphenols are secondary metabolites produced by plants, which contribute to the plant’s defense against abiotic stress conditions (e.g., UV radiation and precipitation), aggression of herbivores, plant pathogens. Epidemiological studies suggest that long-term consumption polyphenols protects cardiovascular disease, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases. Their structural diversity has fascinated confronted analytical chemists on how carry out unambiguous identification, exhaustive recovery from plants organic waste, define their nutritional biological potential. The food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical industries employ fruits vegetables produce additives, additional foods, supplements. In some cases, nanocarriers have been used protect during food processing, solve issues related low water solubility, transport them site action, improve bioavailability. This review summarizes structure-bioactivity relationships, processing parameters impact polyphenol stability bioavailability, research progress in nanocarrier delivery, most innovative methodologies for agri-waste materials.

The development of new biopolymer production technologies is becoming increasingly relevant for tackling the negative impact linear plastics. Despite these potential benefits, their and commercialization still face several obstacles that might hinder widespread adoption. present systematic review aimed to offer a thorough analysis multi-level supply-side barriers across researchers, policymakers, industry professionals. Searches were performed in Web Science, SCOPUS, PubMed, IEEE Xplore between June July 2023. Publications 2019 2023 considered (n = 176). Content was coded following PICO structure results reported PRISMA checklist. We found technological knowledge most identified, followed by economic, regulatory, supply stability, behavioral challenges. Moreover, we 82% documents identified more than one barrier, reflecting complex interaction different challenges field. Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, establishing clear regulatory frameworks, enhancing communication strategies are recommendations overcoming barriers. These findings draft multifaceted roadmap key new, sustainable technologies, carry significant implications future research, policy development, practices.

Several developments and research methods are ongoing in drug technology chemistry to elicit effectiveness regarding the therapeutic activity of drugs along with photoprotection for their molecular integrity. The detrimental effect UV light induces damaged cells DNA, which leads skin cancer other phototoxic effects. application sunscreen shields is important, recommended filters. Avobenzone widely used as a UVA filter formulations. However, keto-enol tautomerism propagates photodegradation into it, further channelizes photoirradiation effects, limiting its use. approaches have been counter these issues, including encapsulation, antioxidants, photostabilizers, quenchers. To seek gold standard approach photosensitive drugs, combinations strategies implemented identify effective safe agents. stringent regulatory guidelines formulations, availability limited FDA-approved filters, led many researchers develop perfect photostabilization available photostable such avobenzone. Seaweeds or algae are marine autotrophic organisms. They produce nutrients (e.g., proteins, carbohydrates, etc.) essential for the survival of living organisms as they participate in biochemical processes and non-nutritive molecules (such dietary fibers secondary metabolites), which can improve their physiological functions. Seaweed polysaccharides, fatty acids, peptides, terpenoids, pigments, polyphenols have biological properties that be used to develop food supplements nutricosmetic products act antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory compounds. This review examines (primary secondary) metabolites produced by algae, most recent evidence effect on human health conditions, with particular attention what concerns skin hair’s well-being. It also evaluates industrial potential recovering these from biomass clean wastewater.
