Based on their geographical origins, the functional compound profile of beehive propolis varies significantly. The present study evaluates phenolic and flavonoid, antioxidant, antimicrobial activities extracts (PE) sourced from four different areas in UAE. Kuwaitat Al-Wathba were further used as an additive minced beef burger to demonstrate natural preservative effects enhance shelf life keeping quality over 15 days refrigerated storage. ethanol using DPPH assays with IC 50 0.30 ± 0.052 0.28 0.002 mg/mL, respectively, showed highest antioxidant activities. HPLC analysis confirmed presence polyphenolic compounds including vanillic acid, p-coumaric resveratrol, quercetin. Furthermore, exhibited good activity against various pathogenic strains. total aerobic counts meat products incorporated 25 25.6% lower than untreated products, extract fortified exhibiting a 9 chilled storage which was 67% higher samples. These formulations also significant inhibition rates Escherichia coli Salmonella senftenberg after storage, respectively. findings suggest that UAE regions have properties can be safely improve shelf-life safety products.

ABSTRACT Flavonoids are natural polyphenolic compounds that primarily possess antioxidant properties and play a significant role in opposing various diseases. Current chemotherapeutic approaches largely ineffective, thus calling for the development of alternative strategies to combat this disease. In regard, numerous studies have reported anticancer effect flavonoids different types cancer. To enhance its therapeutic value, polymeric nanoparticles (PEG NPs) represent an ideal delivery system. Further, surface modification NPs with PEG holds tremendous potential improving bioavailability circulation time native drugs blood. The present study aimed develop Quercetin/Rutin‐loaded (Qu‐PEG/Ru‐PEG enhanced encapsulation efficiency sustained drug release. synthesized Qu‐PEG & Ru‐PEG were characterized by UV‐Vis Spectroscopy, FTIR spectrum, NMR, XRD SEM analysis. In‐vitro release exhibited cumulative Quercetin rutin 24 h at pH 7.4. nano‐formulations Rutin showed activity, leading defense against oxidative stress. cellular demonstrated significantly inhibit KB cell proliferation compared free alone. current also intracellular ROS generation Hence, our research findings revealed successful targets tumor microenvironment enhances efficacy drugs. Based on these preliminary results, flavonoid‐loaded polymeric‐based might be molecules cancer future.

Background: The plant extract of quercetin possesses valuable pharmacological properties. However, its high instability, poor water solubility, and low cell bioavailability has limited medical applications. An innovative approach used to overcome these limitations is the QUE incorporation in suitable polymer carriers. Methods: In present study, fibrous materials based on PLA or PLA/PEG loaded with flavonoid (QUE) were obtained by electrospinning technique. Diverse morphological, spectroscopic, physico-mechanical, spectrophotometric methods characterize prepared electrospun mats. Results: addition hydrophilic PEG matrix improved wettability assisted more rapid release from mat than one. mats possess good mechanical Moreover, QUE-loaded exhibited anticancer activity against HeLa cervical cancer cells, but lower toxicity normal cells. Conclusions: perspective results revealed potential find applications for wound healing treatment.

Worldwide, fermented foods (FF) are recognized as healthy and safe. Despite the rapid increase of research papers, there is a lack systematic evaluation health benefits risks FF. The COST Action CA20128 "Promoting innovation foods" (PIMENTO) aims to provide comprehensive assessment on available evidence by compiling set 16 reviews. Seven reviews will cover clinical biological endpoints associated with major indicators across several organ systems, including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurological, immune, skeletal systems. Nine address broader questions FF bioactive compounds vitamin production, nutrient bioavailability bioaccessibility, role in diets personalized nutrition, food safety, regulatory practices, finally, properties novel ethnic For each outcome assessed reviews, an innovative approach be adopted based EFSA's published guidance for claim submissions. In particular, review composed three parts: (1) human studies; (2) non-systematic mechanism action related measured studies identified part 1; (3) characterization investigated 1. gaps derived from summarized form strategic road map that pave way future
