Abstract Intro The prevalence of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is constantly progressing with the aging global population. AAA rupture has a devastating 80% mortality rate and there no treatment to slow-down progression. Hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) ubiquitous redox-modifying gasotransmitter produced in cardiovascular system via reverse trans-sulfuration pathway by cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE). H S protective properties on system, including anti-inflammatory antioxidant effects. Here, we hypothesized that sodium thiosulfate (STS), clinically relevant source S, would limit growth. Methods 8-12 weeks old male WT or Cse -/- mice C57BL/6J genetic background were submitted model topical elastase application aorta β-aminopropionitrile fumarate drinking water for post-op. Hydrogen sulfide is a gasotransmitter molecule involved in the realization of many functions plant organism, including seed germination. Aging seeds shown to be accompanied by oxidative stress and reduced The effect exogenous hydrogen on germination aged cereal has not been studied. aim work was estimate priming with NaHS as an H2S donor wheat triticale previously subjected natural aging. Seeds winter (Triticum aestivum) ×Triticosecale were stored indoors for 4 years at fluctuating temperature humidity. Aged treated 0.2-5 mM solution 3 h germinated Petri dishes days. hydropriming­ treatment used control. Amylase activity grains, biomass shoots roots, content total sugars, H2O2, lipid peroxidation products anthocyanin, antioxidant enzymes seedlings determined. It that after donor, activities catalase guaiacol peroxidase, well anthocyanins increased only seedlings. Nevertheless, both species followed enhanced growth increase amylase superoxide dismutase activities, decrease H2O2 MDA contents, elevated accumulation sugars shoots. concluded under influence caused mobilization reserve carbohydrates modulation system activity.
