The standardization of the semen cryopreservation technique could be an effective tool in poultry for conservation genetic resources. During this process, production reactive oxygen species increases, leading to oxidative stress that causes damage spermatozoa. To reduce effect, addition exogenous antioxidants diluent has been reported effective. Multiple such as catalase, vitamin E, cysteamine, ergothioneine, and serine have studied roosters. Therefore, present investigation aims perform a meta-analysis determine if use aforementioned added extender produces improvement quality parameters roosters after thawing. After collecting data, discriminant canonical analysis was performed which selected traits provided most information, with hypo-osmotic swelling test (HOST), viability, total motility variables showing highest discriminatory power. However, according descriptive statistics, catalase are improve greater number seminal parameters, since gives favorable results discriminating variables, it antioxidant choice.

Oxidative stress impairs sperm function and fertility in rams, most notably during cryopreservation, is characterized by compromised motility. Mitochondria contribute immensely towards function, such as mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) which crucial for ATP production. The purpose of this study was to assess the role MitoPBN supplementation on cryopreserved quality mature Ghezel ram sperm. Semen samples were treated with 0 (control), 100, 150, 200, 250 µmol/L then analyzed key factors. Results indicated that 100 150 significantly enhanced total motility, increasing 52.36 ± 4.26% 54.16 3.19%, respectively. Progressive motility similarly improved 24.82 3.27% 26.77 3.46%, Additionally, integrity markedly increased 50.01 4.22% 52.54 2.24%, while activity augmented from 35.14 4.09% 46.16 4.02% 50.26 6.69%. Sperm viability also improved, rising 48.99 3.98% 52.20 3.17%, Notably, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels reduced 2.95 0.16% 2.80 0.11%, respectively, paralleled enhancements antioxidant capacity (TAC; 1.85 0.21% 1.93 0.16%, respectively) glutathione peroxidase (GPx) (61.16 4.77% 63.36 4.95%, respectively). Moreover, content reached a peak 116.29 5.83 group. In conclusion, our results evidence oxidative cryopreservation effectively countered MitoPBN, improving quality.

Sperm cryopreservation provides patients undergoing oncological, surgical, or infertility treatments the opportunity to conceive their own children, using assisted reproductive technologies. However, freezing-thawing process can negatively influence both quantity and quality of spermatozoa, mainly due an excessive production reactive oxygen species and/or impaired antioxidant defense system in sperm. Aromatic medicinal plants synthesize essential oils with proprieties as a part ecological adaptation environmental stress, thanks rich bioactive phytochemical components. This study aimed assess sperm progressive motility, viability, plasma membrane functionality, lipid peroxidation levels human cryopreserved normozoospermic (n = 51) asthenozoospermic samples without addition Thymus satureoides (TSEO) (20 µg/mL), Artemisia vulgaris (AVEO) (48 Rosmarinus officinalis (ROEO) (13 µg/mL) oils. parameters were significantly better preserved ROEO (p < 0.05) 0.01). In contrast, TSEO had negative impact for groups 0.05). Meanwhile, no significant effects observed AVEO. summary, revealed that vitro agents during be either beneficial, which helps preserve fertilizing potential, detrimental spermicidal agents.

ABSTRACT A triad of enzymatic antioxidants viz., catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) constitutes a first line defence against any redox imbalances in the semen. Cryopreservation enabling long term storage semen also prompts generation surplus reactive oxygen species (ROS) cells with waned antioxidants, hampering full exploitation this process. With Japanese quail having all potential to satisfy steeply growing poultry demand, there is need for its propagation via sperm preservation assisted reproduction. Therefore, current study aimed at investigating semen, level decline their activity during cryopreservation intra‐species variation levels. Moreover, malonaldehyde (MDA) levels fresh cryopreserved individual birds were taken into account. Semen was collected separately from seven mature males, diluted NaCl extender (1:15) cryopreserved. Analysis seminal plasma done collection, post‐dilution, post‐cooling, post‐equilibration post‐thaw stages freezing. The results confirmed presence CAT, SOD GPx plasma, ( p < 0.05) respect freeze‐tolerance. Furthermore, significant increase recorded MDA varying rates among quails cryopreservation. In conclusion, exhibit antioxidant activities monitor ROS performance these severely affected by freezing process rise lipid peroxidation (LPO).

Cryopreservation plays a critical role in animal breeding and the conservation of endangered species, but it often compromises sperm characteristics such as morphology, motility, viability due to oxidative stress. This study explores antioxidative effect Mito-Tempo (MT) Berberine (BER) enhance post-thaw quality rabbits. Pooled rabbit samples were supplemented with different concentrations (0.0, 0.5, 5, 10, 50 µmol/L) MT BER. Sperm motility was evaluated using computer-assisted semen analysis, while viability, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, acrosome integrity, mitochondrial function assessed through flow cytometry. The results revealed that at 5 10 µmol/L BER significantly improved total progressive activity, compared control group. Furthermore, enhanced both effectively reduced ROS levels apoptosis. is first demonstrate protective effects on during cryopreservation. By mitigating stress reducing these antioxidants markedly quality, positioning promising agents for improving cryosurvival.
