Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a prognostic factor for the development of metabolic syndrome (MetS), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), increases risk cardiometabolic pathologies and neurodegenerative diseases. At same time, T2DM MetS can also cause major neurosis-like psychiatric symptoms characteristic PTSD. Their influence manifested through negative effects on central nervous system, in particular Oxidative chronic low-grade inflammation play an important role pathophysiology PTSD, MetS, T2DM, making them main therapeutic targets. Targeted oxidative stress, mitochondrial metabolism disorders, use antioxidants, α-lipoic acid (ALA), positively affect not only course comorbidities but manifestations In vitro vivo studies have demonstrated that ALA modulates number pathways associated with stress. addition, results clinical trials confirm antioxidant mechanism action patients obesity, 1 2. The neuroprotective activity being actively studied proving promising as approach treatment PTSD Despite significant potential ALA, its application limited by several barriers. particular, lack standardized protocols, well detailed assessment effectiveness alone. pharmacokinetic profile remains limited, which one factors hinder use. this context, there are certain prospects transportation systems based nanoparticles, potentially solve these problems. technologies solid lipid nanoparticles such niosomes, liposomes, nanostructured carriers micelles provide possibility local or systemic ALA. Sevoflurane, the most commonly used inhalational anesthetic, may negatively impact brain by inducing oxidative stress. This study investigated potential protective role of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) in mitigating sevoflurane-induced stress and damage. A total 155 patients undergoing sevoflurane anesthesia for liver resection surgery were randomly assigned to receive either ALA or a placebo. Perioperative internal jugular venous blood samples collected measure markers (8-OHdG, sORP, cORP) injury biomarkers (S100β UCH-L1). Postoperative cognitive function was also evaluated. The results demonstrated that, compared placebo group, group exhibited significant reduction 8-OHdG levels 0.007 nmol/L (95% CI, −0.011 −0.003; P = 0.03) 24 h after surgery, accompanied lower sORP higher cORP levels. Furthermore, postoperative S100β UCH-L1 significantly than (S100β, 0.02; UCH-L1, 0.03). Additionally, correlated with damage surgery. Our findings suggest that reduces damage, while improving function, indicating its neuroprotective effect. Clinical Trial Registration: https://www.chictr.org.cn/ , identifier ChiCTR2300077321.

The aim of this study is to investigate the alleviating effect lipoic acid on oxidative stress and tissue damage induced by aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in young laying hens. experiment was divided into a control group, an AFB1 three treatment groups. group groups were given diets supplemented with 90 μg/kg AFB1. additional amounts 20, 100, 500 mg/kg, respectively, feeding period 4 weeks. experimental results showed that significantly increased levels alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) malondialdehyde (MDA) serum decreased total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), superoxide dismutase (T-SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) catalase (CAT) (p < 0.05). In addition, damaged structure liver, spleen, ovarian tissues. Lipoic reduced ALT, AST, ALP, MDA TP, ALB, T-SOD, GSH-Px, CAT Meanwhile, also protected mitochondrial alleviated caused summary, can alleviate

Endometriosis is a chronic, complex, systemic inflammatory condition that impacts approximately 190 million girls and women worldwide, significantly impacting their quality of life. The effective management endometriosis requires multi-disciplinary holistic approach, one includes surgical medical management, such as laparoscopy chronic plan, well dietary, nutritional, lifestyle adjunct interventions, pelvic pain physiotherapy acupuncture. There growing evidence to support the role dietary nutritional interventions in endometriosis-related gastrointestinal symptoms. However, implementation these often not regulated, patients with adopt self-management strategies. Diet nutrition can modulate key players integral pathophysiology endometriosis, as, but limited to, inflammation, estrogen, microbiome. it unclear whether diet plays prevention or onset endometriosis. In this review, we discuss three pathogenesis endometriosis-inflammation, microbiome-and summarize how influence mechanisms, consequently, progression manifestation major need for evidence-based, non-invasive debilitating disease, may be suitable.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a complex and heterogenous disease classified as group of metabolic disorders characterized by chronic hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, action, or both. It leads to various complications, some which are macrovascular microvascular like diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN), having profound impact on patients' quality life. Oxidative stress (OS) one the significant mechanisms development progression DPN. Thus, targeting OS pathways antioxidants, such α-lipoic acid (ALA), could represent promising therapeutic strategy for alleviating neuropathic symptoms. The aim our study was evaluate whether short-term (from 4 9 days) intravenous administration ALA cause any measurable improvement subjects with DM.
