Logistics has long been important in an industrial society. Compared with the traditional structure of distribution, which requires freight to be delivered mostly warehouses or retail stores, customers now often prefer packages their residences, especially after delivery challenges during COVID-19 pandemic. The parcels urban residential areas increases challenge due amount volume, tight schedules, and continuously changing conditions. Last-mile tries address challenges, taking advantage available automation, sensor communication technologies, people’s attitudes toward parcel for benefit all stakeholders. Various approaches last-mile have proposed analyzed literature. This paper reviews recent literature on vehicle routing delivery. review identified four major categories: crowdshipping, lockers, by sidekicks, optional points. nature problems is discussed five aspects: fleet capacity, time window, option, dynamism input, stochastic parameters. identifies achievements limitations research proposes a future agenda.

In the realm of supply chain logistics, Multi-Depot Multi-Supplier Vehicle Routing Problem (MDMSVRP) poses a significant challenge in optimizing transportation process to minimize costs and enhance operational efficiency. This problem involves determining most cost-effective routes for fleet vehicles deliver goods from multiple suppliers depots, considering various constraints non-linear relationships. The routing (RP) is critical element many logistics systems that involve scheduling depot set customer nodes. One studied versions RP with Time Windows (VRPTW), which each must be visited at certain time intervals, called windows. this paper, it considered there are depots (supply centers) suppliers, along vehicles. goal efficiently plan these customers while relaxed research intended establish new relaxation scheme relaxes window order lead feasible good solutions. addition, study develops discrete optimization model as an alternative time-dependent VRPTW involving multi-suppliers. also metaheuristic algorithm initial solution determined through relaxation.

An extended revised study was developed our last work, titled “Multi Objective Scheduling Computing Using Multi-Objective Simplified Swarm Optimization MOSSO” IEEE CEC 2018. More new algorithms, testing, comparisons have been implemented solve bi-objective time-constrained task problem a more efficient manner. with objectives including energy consumption time, solved by newer algorithm this study. algorithm, named two-objective simplified swarm optimization (tSSO), revises improves errors previous MOSSO ignores fact that number temporary nondominated solutions not always only one multi-objective problem, some may be next generation based on (SSO). experimental results show tSSO performs better than best-known sorting genetic II (NSGA-II), particle (MOPSO), convergence, diversity, obtained solutions, real solutions. accomplishes objective study, as proven experiments.

The aim this work was to facilitate transfer rail using tramway infrastructure, those shipments previously entered city center by road. paper proposes a simulation model for small consignments delivered trams in Poznań, Poland. Operational planning is carried out conditions uncertainty risk. due stochastic nature demand products. risk characterized probability that, technological technical limitations, given customer will not be fully served from center. authors provide decision support tool evaluating possible locations tram depots route planning. assignment routes, with criterion minimizing costs carrier, limitation on operating time, based genetic algorithms, makes it obtain solution close optimal, within reasonable time period. Last mile delivery is a significant component in the growth of e-commerce, especially urban areas. The deliveries dense cities cause several serious issues such as air/noise pollution and congestion. In this study, we compare financial costs CO2 emissions from different last strategies grocery bins scenario Paris with four types vehicles (diesel/electric vans, cargo bikes, autonomous vehicles). We use associated each vehicle type, location data constraints for establishments Paris, scenarios obtained by solving routing problem an overall cost comparison. consider economic analysis daily to optimise estimate emissions. results highlight competitiveness among reflect transition knowing transport expenses since 2018: electric van become competitive diesel ones, it concluded some perspectives bikes their current limits. show great impact on emissions, which are vital development sustainable last-mile delivery.
