The article describes the results of laboratory studies on unfrozen water content and ultimate long-term strength frozen clay chalk samples in temperature range from −10 to −25 °C. soil contained dissolved salt pore space, with three types salts (NaCl, KCl, CaCl2) being considered. findings indicate that influence type soils is realized indirectly through content. In this case, freezing characteristic curve region negative temperatures significantly depends both its quantity. experimental data obtained were used parameterize model calculate maximum bearing capacity wall (FW) presence volume soils. It has been demonstrated decrease FW substantial appearance space This at-tributed combined effects two factors: 1) a reduction thickness 2) due an increase amount space. second factor deemed more significant.

Purpose. Evaluation of the influence Robinia pseudoacacia L. and Quercus robur forest plantations on thermal diffusivity, specific heat conductivity southern chernozems. Methods. The thermophysical properties soils were determined by method pulse heating using a specially developed installation software. Soil temperature in field was soil surface at depths sensors. Air measured with digital anemometer-thermometer-hygrometer Starmeter (ST8021). Results. performed samples taken from zonal chernozems (used as control), under R. Q. near city Zelenodolsk (Kryvorizky district, Dnipropetrovsk region). It established that growth led to decrease temperature, depth 50 cm, average 0–50 cm layer compared chernozem is characterized sharper changes plantations. plantation an increase values its upper horizons chernozem. planting heat, practically did not lead conductivity. Conclusions. leads more pronounced change plantation, especially studied
