The use of biofuels is one way to reduce the increasingly visible harmful effects diesel engines on environment. At same time, it also a gradually dependence depleting oil resources. New sources for biodiesel production are currently being sought out. authors this article have produced esters from animal fat waste, obtaining biofuel that can power while manage unnecessary waste. The aim of this study was to assess the impact adding ethanol diesel fuel on particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions in Perkins 854E compression-ignition engine. Tests were carried out under European Stationary Cycle (ESC) conditions using Horiba Mexa 1230 PM analyzer (HORIBA, Ltd., Kyoto, Japan) for measurement AVL CEB II (AVL, Graz, Austria) NOx concentration. engine investigation featured direct injection, turbocharging, a common-rail supply system, complied with Stage IIIB/Tier 4 emission standard. Two types used: conventional (DF) 10% additive by volume (DFE10). In addition measurements, key performance parameters, such as torque, effective power, consumption, analyzed. ESC test specifically chosen isolate influence fuel’s properties avoiding effects changes combustion control strategies. Due lower calorific value DFE10 compared DF, slight increase consumption observed certain operating conditions. Nevertheless, overall remained largely unchanged. results showed that use led significant 44% reduction moderate 2.2% decrease fuel. These findings highlight potential reduce harmful exhaust without negatively affecting modern engines.
