Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is currently one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide. Associated risk factors include, but are not limited to, cirrhosis and underlying liver diseases, including chronic hepatitis B or C infections, excessive alcohol consumption, nonalcoholic fatty disease (NAFLD), exposure to chemical carcinogens. It crucial detect this early on before it metastasizes adjoining parts body, worsening prognosis. Serum biomarkers have proven be a more accurate diagnostic tool compared imaging. Among various markers such as nucleic acids, circulating genetic material, proteins, enzymes, other metabolites, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) protein marker primarily used diagnose HCC. However, current methods need large sample carry high cost, among challenges, which can improved using biosensing technology. Early detection AFP prevent severe progression ensure better management HCC patients. This review sheds light development in human body. Afterward, we outline types biosensors (optical, electrochemical, mass-based), well relevant studies modalities for non-invasive monitoring AFP. The also explains these sensing platforms, substrates, surface modification agents, fluorescent probes develop biosensors. Finally, challenges future trends routine clinical analysis discussed motivate further developments.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is currently the most common malignancy of liver. It typically occurs due to a series oncogenic mutations that lead aberrant cell replication. Most commonly, hepatocellular (HCC) as result pre-occurring liver diseases, such hepatitis and cirrhosis. Given its aggressive nature poor prognosis, early screening diagnosis HCC are crucial. However, plethora underlying risk factors pathophysiologies, patient presentation often varies in stages, with many patients presenting few, if any, specific symptoms stages. Conventionally, performed through radiological examination, confirmed by biopsy. Imaging modalities tend be limited their requirement large, expensive equipment; time-consuming operation; lack accurate diagnosis, whereas biopsy's invasive makes it unappealing for repetitive use. Recently, biosensors have gained attention potential detect numerous conditions rapidly, cheaply, accurately, without complex equipment training. Through sensing platforms, they aim various biomarkers, nucleic acids, proteins, even whole cells extracted liquid Numerous been developed may We discuss recent updates biosensing technology, highlighting competitive compared conventional methodology prospects tool diagnosis.

Hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) are highly heterogeneous malignancies. They characterized by a peculiar tumor microenvironment and dense vascularization. The importance of signaling between immune cells, endothelial cells leads to the difficult recapitulation reliable in vitro HCC model using conventional two-dimensional cell cultures. advent three-dimensional organoid technology has revolutionized our understanding pathogenesis progression several malignancies faithfully replicating original cancer genomic, epigenomic, microenvironmental landscape. Organoids more closely mimic vivo environment interactions, factors such as spatial organization surface receptors gene expression, will probably become an important tool choice therapies evaluation response treatments. This review aimed describe ongoing potential applications organoids for study development, its interaction with host's immunity, analysis drug sensitivity tests, current limits this field.
