Background Controlling a myoelectric arm prosthesis after amputation is skill that difficult to master and requires extensive training since muscles need be activated in specific manner. One novel type of places the user virtual reality environment (VRE) train; however, it not yet clear if transfer occurs from actual use. Objective The aim current study examine VRE training. Methods A total 20 able-bodied participants were divided into two groups. group trained with newly developed system other using simulator. Both groups performed five sessions pre-test/post-test design where functional control, motivation perceived workload measured. Results results showed both improved pre-test post-test on control but workload. Interestingly, almost no differences improvements between found indicating there was difference effectiveness methods. Conclusion Based these results, we can conclude Therefore, an effective method for has valuable potential implementation rehabilitation setting.

Abstract Background Physical activity supports the health and well-being of individuals with physical disabilities. Despite significance engaging in activity, barriers faced by disabilities, such as limited access to adapted facilities lack transportation, can restrict their participation. Community organizations play a role addressing these challenges, but virtual reality (VR) also offers way diversify activities. In some situations, VR help overcome resource limitations providing accessible, engaging, highly personalized options for activity. Objective The aim this study was explore needs expectations disabilities interventionists use platform community organization. Methods A descriptive qualitative conducted using semistructured interviews interventionists, all associated nonprofit organization promoting among people Data were analyzed an inductive thematic approach. Results total, 15 participants, including 8 7 interviewed. Through discussion, we gained insights into everyday challenges identified priorities organizations. Subsequently, discussed key considerations VR, adapting activities, possibility fostering more positive perception harnessing potential improve We importance supporting personal goals creating inclusive experiences while recognizing technical difficulties connectivity issues. Conclusions By exploring regarding technology from provided essential integrating immersive nonimmersive organizations, informing next steps design activities VR.
