Introduction Internet addiction (IA) is becoming a significant public health issue that requires urgent attention, especially for adolescents. Previous studies mainly focused on the risk factors of and drawn some conclusions. The purpose this study to investigate status concurrent psychological problems in adolescent groups, explore differences relationship between IA adolescents from gender grade. Methods A cross-sectional was conducted among students junior senior high school 21 prefecture-level cities Guangdong Province. Young Diagnostic Questionnaire (YDQ) validated Chinese version Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) were used assess participants’ status. Two-way ANOVA verify interaction addiction, grade problems. When statistically significant, simple effect analysis further carried out. Results prevalence problematic use (PIU), depression, anxiety, stress symptoms 16.32%, 30.16%, 35.97% 18.80% respectively. Although PIU boys (17.89%) higher than girls (14.86%), group had highest scores anxiety stress. Similarly, also ( p < 0.05). 9 (17.29%), adverse effects different grades. Discussion prevalent province, cannot be ignored. Thus, suggests long-term follow-ups should included mental programs monitor development

Problematic social media use (PSMU) is a behavioral addiction, specific form of problematic Internet associated with the uncontrolled networks. It typical mostly for modern adolescents and young adults, which are first generations fully grown up in era total digitalization society. The biopsychosocial model formation addictions, postulating impact large number biological, psychological, factors on addictive behavior formation, may be quite applicable to PSMU. In this narrative review, we discussed neurobiological risk addiction focus current evidence association between PSMU structural/ functional characteristics brain autonomic nervous system, neurochemical correlations, genetic features. A review literature shows that vast majority mentioned studies were focused computer games generalized (without taking into account consumed content). Even though certain neuroimaging have been conducted PSMU, there practically no research neuropeptide associations date. This fact points extremely high relevance such studies.

The COVID-19 pandemic has coincided with a global increase in problematic social networking sites use (PSNSU). By drawing on transactional stress theory and applying the stressor-strain-outcome (SSO) framework, we proposed verified chain mediation model to explore mediating roles of fear missing out (FoMO) future anxiety (FA) relationship between lockdown (CL stress) PSNSU. Our sample 670 quarantined college students China responded student questionnaire, network addiction scale, dark scale. results revealed that (1) CL significantly positively predicted PSNSU, (2) both FoMO FA mediated (3) FA, (4) full was observed
