Biometrics play an important role in modern access control and security systems. The need of novel biometrics to complement traditional has been at the forefront research. Facial Blood Flow (FBF) biometric trait, recently proposed by our team, is a spatio-temporal representation facial blood flow, constructed using motion magnification from areas where skin visible. Due its design construction, FBF does not information eyes, nose, or mouth, and, therefore, it yields versatile great potential. In this work, we evaluate effectiveness temporal partitioning Fast Fourier Transform-based features that capture evolution flow. These new features, along with “time-distributed” Convolutional Neural Network-based deep learning architecture, are experimentally shown increase performance FBF-based person identification compared previous efforts. This study provides further evidence FBF’s potential for use identification.

Background Rosacea has a high incidence, significantly impacts quality of life, and lacks sufficient diagnostic techniques. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) for measuring facial blood perfusion in patients with rosacea identify differences flow among various regions associated different subtypes. Methods From June December 2023, 45 were recruited, 9 excluded, leaving 36 subjects: 12 erythematotelangiectatic (ETR), papulopustular (PPR), healthy controls. The Think View multispectral analyzer assessed inflammation via gray reading values across full face five areas: forehead, nose, cheeks, chin. LSCI measured analyzed same areas. Plasma biomarkers interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) tested groups. Results Both ETR PPR groups showed increased average intensity by compared controls, statistically significant differences. Average cheeks between PPR. group forehead chin IL-6, TNF-α elevated both Conclusion is valuable, non-invasive tool assessing dynamics rosacea, providing data foundation clinical research. Different subtypes exhibit distinct lesion distribution patterns, could affect all areas, particularly

Objective: This study aimed to assess the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with modified Blood and Vessel Expelling Stasis Tang in treatment poststroke patients experiencing facial paralysis insomnia. Methods: A total 120 insomnia were selected from Department Acupuncture Moxibustion at First Affiliated Hospital Tianjin University Traditional Chinese Medicine between January 2021 2023. They randomly assigned either a control group or group, 60 each group. The received conventional treatment, while Tang. neurological function, paralysis, sleep quality both groups compared. Results: exhibited significantly higher effective rate compared (86.67% versus 66.67%). After showed significant reduction National Institutes Health Stroke Scale scores, demonstrating lower scores than Functional Disability Index for somatic functioning social life improved after achieving Sleep-Related Symptom Pittsburgh Sleep Quality decreased Conclusions: effectively promotes recovery function improves However, further research is warranted validate these findings.
