This article reviewed the relationship between autonomic nervous system and development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is most common reproductive endocrine disorder among women age. Its primary characteristics include persistent anovulation, hyperandrogenism, ovarian morphology, often accompanied by disturbances in glucose lipid metabolism. The body’s functions are regulated system, which consists mainly sympathetic parasympathetic systems. helps maintain homeostasis body. Research indicates that function mammals under neural control. ovaries receive central information through plexus nerves superior nerves. Neurotransmitters mediate function, with acetylcholine norepinephrine being predominant neurotransmitters. They influence secretion steroids follicular development. In animal experiments, estrogen, androgens, stress-induced rat models have been used to explore system. Results shown activation contributes rat. clinical practice, assessments patients gradually employed. These heart rate variability testing, measurement muscle nerve activity, skin response post-exercise recovery evaluation. exhibit dysfunction, characterized increased activity decreased vagal activity. Abnormal metabolic indicators can also impact Clinical studies various effective methods for managing regulate patients’ during treatment process. suggests improving may be an approach treating PCOS.

The ovariectomy (OVE) procedure can trigger somatosensory and visceral peritoneal nociception. Sacrococcygeal epidural (ScE) anesthesia may complement or replace systemic analgesia used for feline OVE, reducing opioid consumption their related undesirable adverse effects consequently completely blocking the sympathetic nervous system activation during this procedure. present study aimed to evaluate of resulting from adding an ScE injection bupivacaine 0.25% (0.3 mL kg−1) in OVE identify whether translates hemodynamic variables stability. A Parasympathetic Tone Activity (PTA) monitor was applied given that it performs analysis heart rate variability (HRV) detecting changes parasympathetic tone, making a good tool study. Two groups animals were evaluated five perioperative times, namely, control group (CG) (n = 18) with alone sacrococcygeal (ScEG) 20) combined analgesia. Thirty-eight female cats selected. All assigned CG ScEG premedicated dexmedetomidine (20 μg kg−1 IM) methadone (0.2 mg IM). General induced propofol IV ad effectum maintained isoflurane 100% oxygen. Heart rate, non-invasive systolic median blood pressure, respiratory instantaneous tone activity recorded. Compared (CG), reduced rise common but did not prevent activation.
