The objective of this study was to assess the effects cognitive-behavioral hypnotherapy on dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, and women's emotional management. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with control group, research adopted pretest-posttest method. focus group comprised women reproductive age seeking counseling psychological services at Ferdowsi University Mashhad. Fifty participants were selected through purposive sampling randomly divided into two groups - experimental 25 in each. They completed Visual Analog Scale, Premenstrual Symptoms Screening Tool (PSST), Affective Control Scale (ACS) before after intervention. data analyzed using Analysis Covariance (ANCOVA) SPSS-21 software. findings revealed that significantly reduced dysmenorrhea pain, symptoms improved regulation. Therefore, therapy, which includes suggestion relaxation techniques, is recommended for enhancing quality life suffering from menstrual discomfort, as well related distress. It suggested treatment issues stemming pain symptoms.

Clinical hypnosis is effective for pain management in adults, but there little evidence of its use the pediatric population. We conducted a randomized clinical trial on patients (aged 7-19 years) that had undergone major orthopedic surgery, allocated to one two groups: experimental group (HG), which received sessions hypnosis, or control (CG), non-hypnosis visits. The variables analyzed were (Visual Analog Scale [VAS]), analgesic drugs, anxiety (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Children [STAIC]), parasympathetic activation (Analgesia Nociception Index [ANI] monitor) and vital signs such as heart rate (HR), respiratory (RR) systolic diastolic blood pressure (SBP DBP). used Student t test χ2 statistical analysis. Of 24 sample, 16 assigned HG 8 CG. In HG, we observed significant reduction VAS scores at h (P = .0001) 48 .0004) post surgery. Hypnosis, a clinically valuable therapeutic modality, is increasingly recognized for its efficacy in treating spectrum of psychological and somatic disorders, including pain. Its influence extends beyond central nervous system processes to encompass the autonomic (ANS), thereby affecting peripheral physiological responses. Objective psychophysiological measures, heart rate (HR), variability (HRV), electrodermal activity (EDA), Analgesia Nociceptive Index (ANI), provide quantifiable evidence ANS modulation. Studies consistently demonstrate that hypnosis promotes shift towards parasympathetic dominance, characterized by reduced sympathetic enhanced tone, particularly during relaxation protocols. This effect subject individual differences hypnotizability specific task conditions. While acknowledging methodological considerations, this mini review highlights promising role targeted modulation through optimizing interventions pain disorders associated with dysregulation.
