Given the importance of emotion recognition for communication purposes, and impairment such skill in CI users despite impressive language performances, aim present study was to investigate neural correlates skills, apart from language, adult unilateral (UCI) during a music noise (happy/sad) task. Furthermore, asymmetry investigated through electroencephalographic (EEG) rhythm, given traditional concept hemispheric lateralization emotional processing, intrinsic due clinical UCI condition.

Objectives: To explore the neuroanatomical abnormalities in idiopathic tinnitus patients by voxel-based morphometry (VBM) and surface-based (SBM) techniques. elucidate central plasticity with normal or mild hearing loss from insights. Methods: A total of 74 (43 31 loss) 98 healthy subjects were enrolled. VBM SBM employed to analyze neuroimaging data identify differences. Results: Our analysis revealed a reduction gray matter volume distinctive pattern changes cortical surface features tinnitus, especially brain regions closely related limbic system, such as bilateral parahippocampal gyrus, entorhinal cortex, insula. Tinnitus have more extensive reduction, complex compared hearing. In addition, we also found significant correlation between Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Depression (SDS), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scores characteristic parameters above regions. Conclusions: There are alterations patients. Mild may aggravate change characteristics cortex. Anxiety, depression, cognitive impairment be specific
